ECAC Announces Corvias Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16.
 
 
DIVISION II
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Jillian Grammer – West Chester University, So., S
 
Grammer impressed with 108 assists in a pair of five-set contests on the road. The sophomore dished out 45 helpers to go with 18 digs at Shippensburg. The next day, Grammer amassed 63 assists in a tilt at Millersville. She added 14 digs and a trio of kills.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Megan Morrison – Ohio Valley University, Sr., DS
 
Morrison anchored the defense with 64 digs in a 1-1 weekend for Ohio Valley, and currently leads the conference in total digs and digs per set.
 
Rookie of the Week
Danielle Vaiano – Pace University, Fr., Lib.
 
Vaiano averaged 5.38 digs per set across three matches and 13 sets for Pace this week. She had 32 digs in Tuesday's five-set win over Southern Connecticut State. Vaiano added another 25 digs on Friday at Le Moyne.
 
 
DIVISION III - METRO
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Courtney Bocchieri – St. Joseph’s – Long Island, Sr., MH
 
Bocchieri helped the Golden Eagles to four victories in as many outings, averaging 4.1 kills per set and hitting .485 along the way. She posted three matches of .500-plus hitting, as well as three matches with 13.5 or more points. The senior hit .536 (18-3-28) and served three aces in a four-set victory over NJCU. Bocchieri posted an 11-1-18 hitting line (.556) with two blocks (one solo) in three sets against Maritime.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Rebecka Zabilowicz – Stockton University, Sr., DS
 
Zabilowicz reached double-figure digs in all four matches in a 2-2 week. She recorded 72 total digs, or 5.54 per set, last week. She opened the week with 10 digs and three aces in a 3-0 sweep of Rutgers-Camden and followed up with 17 in a sweep of Rowan. The senior then scooped 21 in four sets against Stevenson and finished with a week-high 24 against Bethany College. She added eight assists, four aces and a kill on the week.
 
Rookie of the Week
Julia Hande – Farmingdale State College, Fr., S
 
Hande led the Rams to three straight-set sweeps, and posted three kills/assists double-doubles, averaging 4.11 kills (.253 hitting), 4.22 assists and 1.22 total blocks per set. She finished one dig shy of a triple-double with 14 kills, 13 assists and five assisted blocks at William Paterson. Hande contributed 10 kills, 14 assists and six digs at John Jay. Against Mount Saint Mary, she hit .385 (13-3-26), passed 11 assists and registered five assisted blocks.
 
 
DIVISION III – NEW ENGLAND
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Alycia Rackliffe – Framingham State, Sr., RS
 
Rackliffe averaged 23.3 kills (6.36 per set), 13 digs and four blocks with a .401 hitting percentage in a 3-0 week for the Rams. She recorded 16 kills, seven digs with a .394 hitting percentage in the 3-0 win over MCLA, 27 kills, 18 digs and six blocks in the 3-1 win over Emmanuel and 27 kills, 14 digs and five blocks in the 3-1 win over Lasell College.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Lauren Holt – Springfield College, Sr., MB
 
Holt put up unbelievable defensive numbers as she helped Springfield to five wins last week, including four over the weekend to win the Stevens Invitational. Last week, Holt produced 40 blocks, averaging 2.0 per set, as she increased her national average of 1.78 blocks per set. Additionally, she now has 141 blocks on the year, which is 28 more than anyone else at the NCAA Division III level. She also totaled 54 kills at a .357 clip this week, totaling at least eight kills in every match. After an 11-kill, three-block performance in a NEWMAC sweep of Mount Holyoke, Holt was outstanding versus Haverford with 11 blocks and 13 kills. In a win over Stevens, who was receiving votes in this week's AVCA national poll, Holt totaled 14 kills and eight blocks before turning in nine blocks and eight kills against both Farleigh Dickinson and Montclair State on Sunday. Holt led a Springfield unit that held its opponents to a .149 combined hitting percentage, with no team hitting higher than .200 the entire week. 
 
Rookie of the Week
Hanna Hembrow – Husson University, Fr., S
 
Hembrow helped Husson record a 3-0 week, including a 2-0 mark in the NAC to remain unbeaten in conference play. The rookie recorded 86 assists (7.82/set), 33 digs (3.00/set), ten kills, four blocks (one solo), and eight aces in three matches. The setter tallied double-double performances in all three matches; Maine-Machias (26 assists, 12 digs), Johnson State (32 assists, 11 digs), and Lyndon (28 assists, 10 digs).
 
DIVISION III – NORTH
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Brianna Richardson – The College at Brockport, Jr., MB
 
Richardson led the Brockport offensive attack to another undefeated week in which the Golden Eagles went 5-0 without dropping a set. The junior was a force out of the middle, killing 41 balls in 13 sets played. Those kills came on just 70 attempts, giving her a hitting percentage of .500 for the week. Her best game of the week came on Saturday against Trine when she killed a season-high 16 balls on 25 attempts, swinging at a .560 clip. The junior helped in the blocking game as well, assisting in three blocks against DeSales on Friday and adding a solo in the win over Utica on Saturday. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Jenna Roat – SUNY Canton, Fr., Lib.
 
Roat had an impressive week, tallying 6.80 digs and 0.80 service aces per set to lead the Roos to a 2-1 record against stellar competition at their home invitational. The freshman opened the weekend tallying career-highs of 36 digs (9.00 per set) and five aces in a four set win against Oswego State. She followed that up with a match-best 19 digs in a sweep of SUNY Potsdam. The rookie closed out her weekend with 13 digs in SUNY Canton’s lone loss of the week to Lebanon Valley, winners of 17 of their last 18 matches.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kate Isaksen – Clarkson University, Fr., Lib
 
Isaksen averaged 7.00 digs per set over five matches. Against top-ranked Calvin College she had 6.00 digs per set and versus fifth-ranked Hope College she produced 5.60 digs per set. More impressively, she had 10.5 digs per set against Heidelberg University. Isaksen also chipped in nearly half an assist per set (0.48 aps).
 
 
DIVISION III - SOUTH
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Greta Weidemoyer – Lebanon Valley College, Sr., MH-OH
 
Weidemoyer had another big week leading the Dutchmen to a 4-0 week while recording a triple-double in each of the four wins. The senior finished the week with 61 kills, a .426 hitting percentage, 89 assists, 42 digs, 13 blocks, six aces and 75.5 points. She recorded 19 kills, 22 assists, 11 digs and 3 blocks in a 3-2 win over Alvernia. The senior had 18 kills, 25 assists, 10 digs and 5 blocks in a 3-2 win over Oswego State. Weidemoyer then had 13 kills with just one error (.600), 24 assists, 11 digs and 3 blocks in a 3-0 win over SUNY Potsdam. She finished the week with 11 kills, zero errors (.524), 18 assists, 10 digs and two blocks in a 3-0 win over SUNY Canton.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Molly Higgins – Carnegie Mellon University, Sr., Lib.
 
Higgins helped the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team to a 3-1 week at the University Athletic Association Round Robin by recording 54 total digs. She accumulated 26 against No. 5 Emory and surpassed 2,000 for her career and is now third all-time in Carnegie Mellon history with 2,036.
 
Rookie of the Week
Rachel Cray – Neumann University, Fr., S
 
Cray led the Knights to a 3-0 week with 99 assists, 21 digs, seven aces, six kills and one block. She tallied 37 assists in a four-set win over Marywood and 35 assists and nine digs in a four-set win over non-conference foe Widener.
