ECAC Announces Corvias Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 18.
 
 
DIVISION II
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Cathy Scaniffe – King University, So., OH
 
Scaniffe had a career week, leading the Tornado to three Conference Carolinas wins. She started with a career-high 15 kills in a sweep of Belmont Abbey where she hit .462. The best match of the week came on Friday night when she posted her first career double-double in a 3-2 win over Limestone. She recorded a career-best 23 kills and added a career-high 10 digs. Scaniffe capped the week with 12 kills and career-highs of six service aces and three blocks in a win over Converse. For the week she led King with 50 kills, averaging 4.17 per set and hit .269 from her outside hitter position.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Danielle Vaiano – Pace University, Fr., Lib.
 
Vaiano had another stellar week for Pace, as the Setters went 3-0. She averaged 6.18 digs per set with another 68 digs this week, and now ranks second in the Northeast-10 Conference with a total of 234 digs this season. Vaiano had a week-best 39 digs in Saturday's five-set victory over previously undefeated West Chester University.
 
Rookie of the Week
Becca Huddleston – King University, Fr., Rs/OH
 
Huddleston started the week by matching her career-high with 14 kills to go along with 11 digs in a 3-0 win over Belmont Abbey College. She followed that with a stellar defensive effort in a 3-2 win over Limestone College, posting a career-high 18 digs to go along with eight kills. Huddleston capped the week with another double-double, going for 10 kills and 13 digs in a 3-1 win over Converse College. In her last four matches, Huddleston has posted three double-doubles.
 

DIVISION III - METRO
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Christina Sciarra – Stevens Institute of Technology, Sr., OPP
 
Sciarra recorded her 1,000th career kill in leading the Ducks to a perfect 5-0 week, including straight set wins over regional powers New Paltz and Stockton. Sciarra had double-digit kills in four of the five matches, including 12 in the Empire 8 opener over Hartwick. Against New Paltz, she recorded 13 kills and eight digs, and tallied a double-double of 12 kills and 10 digs against Oneonta on Saturday. She finished the week with 53 kills, 36 digs, nine blocks and six aces.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Rebecka Zabilowicz – Stockton University, Sr., DS
 
Zabilowicz led Stockton to a 4-1 week. She averaged 6.12 digs per set for a total of 104 on the week, including week high of 28 in a win over Arcadia. The defensive specialist also added two kills along with six service aces and six assists, with five of those assists in a victory over Montclair State. Zabilowicz leads the NJAC and ranks 12th nationally with 6.09 digs per set on the season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Maggie Enestvedt – Muhlenberg College, Fr., OH
 
Enestvedt averaged 3.78 kills and 3.89 digs per set while hitting .280 as Muhlenberg swept three matches. In a 3-0 sweep of defending Centennial Conference champion McDaniel, she recorded a match-high 13 kills and a career-high 16 digs. She also hit .364 in a 3-0 sweep of 2015 ECAC Tournament invitee Kean. Enestvedt added four blocks and five aces in the three matches.
 

DIVISION III – NEW ENGLAND
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Alycia Rackliffe – Framingham State University, Sr., RS
 
Rackliffe averaged 13.8 kills, 11 digs and 3.5 blocks in a 4-0 week for the Rams. She netted 12 kills, 13 digs, two aces and a block in the 3-0 win over Bridgewater State. Rackliffe tallied 15 kills, 13 digs and five blocks with a .444 hitting percentage in the 3-0 win over Mount Ida College and 19 kills, eight digs and five blocks in the 3-0 win over Colby-Sawyer College.  She finished the week with nine kills, 10 digs and three blocks in the 3-0 win over Western New England University.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Riley Bunker – Keene State College, So., Lib.
 
In the Owls' first win of the week versus Emmanuel College, Bunker racked up a dominant 34 digs in five sets. In KSC's most recent bout against Lasell College, Bunker played three sets and tallied 24 digs. 
 
Rookie of the Week
Kat Carrel – Keene State College, Fr., OH
 
Carrel had eight kills and a total of 9.5 points in the first game of the week. Against UMass Dartmouth, Carrel had eight kills and five digs as the Owls swept a tri-match.
 

DIVISION III – NORTH
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Haley Riley – SUNY Canton
 
Riley averaged 3.67 kills, 0.67 digs and 0.50 blocks per set while hitting .317 on 104 attacks as the Roos split a pair of matches at the highly competitive Brockport Invitational this weekend. The senior transfer produced at least eight kills in all four matches with a season-high 14 kills hitting .522 (14-2-23) in a sweep of Medaille College on Friday. She also produced 13 kills (13-3-27) in a straight set win over Hilbert College on Friday. Riley posted nine and eight kills, respectively in losses to Mount Union (10-2) and Brockport (12-2).
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Jenna Roat – SUNY Canton, Fr.
 
Roat averaged 7.00 digs per set as the Roos split a pair of matches at the highly competitive Brockport Invitational this weekend. The freshman totaled 25 and 16 digs, respectively in straight set victories over Hilbert College and Medaille College on Friday. She followed that up with 22 and 21 dig performances in losses to Mount Union (10-2) and Brockport (12-2) on Saturday.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kelly Waters – SUNY Brockport, Fr., MB
 
Waters had 32 kills while making just three hitting errors, hitting at a .468 clip. She's now hitting .406 on the season, which tops the SUNYAC and ranks in the top 25 nationally. Waters had a hitting percentage over .500 in three different matches this week, helping her squad to a 4-1 record. She also added six total blocks, including three in the match against Canton in which she also had eight kills, a dig and an assist. 
 
 
DIVISION III - SOUTH
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Sarah Wallace – Swarthmore College, Jr., OH
 
Wallace became the sixth player and first junior in program history to reach 1,000 kills in a 5-0 week for the Garnet. Wallace hit .284 while averaging 3.86 kills and 3.14 digs per set as the Garnet extended its win streak to nine matches. The junior outside hitter was also named the tournament MVP of the Neumann Knights Invitational while Swarthmore finished the weekend without dropping a set.
 
Rookie of the Week
Sarah Wozniak – Saint Vincent College, Fr., MH
 
Wozniak put together another solid week for the Bearcats, tallying 45 kills and committing just eight attack errors to finish their five-match stretch with a .416 hitting percentage. The freshman also racked up a team-high 14 blocks. Wozniak totaled a career-best 13 kills twice in wins over Westminster and Mount Aloysius.
