ECAC Announces Corvias Men's Soccer Players of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias Men’s Soccer Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25.
 
DIVISION II
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Lucca Lacerda – Mercy College, So., M
 
Lacerda led the Mavericks with two goals and five points as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The sophomore scored the game-winning goal in the Mavericks 3-2 win over Dominican on Wednesday, adding an assist in the process. The midfielder concluded the week with a goal against UDC on Saturday.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Carlos Rubio – Ohio Valley University, Jr., GK
 
Rubio had eight saves over the two wins and currently leads the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in goals against average (1.07) and save percentage (.778).
 
Rookie of the Week
Mathias Krigbaum – Gannon University, Fr., F
 
Krigbaum tallied his first hat-trick of his collegiate career in a 5-2 victory over Millersville. He also assisted on another goalto total seven points in the match. The Golden Knights improved to 5-2-1 overall.

 
DIVISION III - METRO
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Omar Parra – Manhattanville College, Sr., M
 
Parra tallied 13 points on six goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for the Valiants. Parra scored a hat trick with all three goals coming in the first half in a 4-2 win over Mount Saint Vincent. The senior came back with three more goals and added an assist in an 8-0 win over John Jay.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kyle Dennis – Rowan University, So., GK
 
Dennis allowed just one goal and recorded 11 saves in two wins last week. He stopped eight shots in a 2-1 win over No. 6 Franklin & Marshall, including stopping a penalty kick with less than five minutes to play to preserve the win. He added three saves and gave up no goals while splitting duties in a conference win over William Paterson. 
 
Rookie of the Week
Fabio De Sousa – Rutgers University-Newark, Fr., F
 
De Sousa scored three goals to help lead Rutgers-Newark in a 2-0 week. In his home debut, he scored the game-winner early in a 3-0 shutout of John Jay. He followed up by scoring both Newark goals in a 2-1 win over Kean. De Sousa’s three goals came on seven shots.
 
DIVISION III – NEW ENGLAND
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Dalton Moore – Maine Maritime Academy, Fr., F.
 
Moore helped the Mariners to a 1-1 week in conference action as he tallied four points off of two goals. The rookie tallied Maine Maritime's only goal in a tough loss to Thomas and the scored the game-winner in a 2-1 win over NEC. 
 
DIVISION III – NORTH
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Richard Lander – Alfred University, Sr., M
 
Richard Lander earned his first two game-winning goals of the season with Saxon wins over King’s College and Utica College on Wednesday and Friday, respectively. Tuesday’s goal in overtime against King’s was a low, blast of a shot with 2:15 remaining in the extra period. Lander’s Empire 8 game-winner was yet another blast to a corner, but this time off of a direct kick from 20 yards out that was placed top-shelf in the back right corner of the net.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Alec Kaminer – Hobart College, So., GK
 
Kaminer posted a 0.00 goals against average and in two wins last week. Kaminer played all 90 minutes in goal, earning a shutout of previously unbeaten and fifth-ranked St. Lawrence on Saturday. Kaminer stopped all three shots he faced against the Saints. It was his first collegiate shutout. On Tuesday, he played 76:18 in a 5-0 win over Utica, stopping the two shots he faced. Kaminer is sporting a 0.72 goals against average, a .842 save percentage and a 3-0-1 record in goal.
 
Rookie of the Week
Salvador Lopez Jr. – Union College, Fr., M
 
Lopez Jr. netted both of the game-winning goals this week as Union defeated Western Connecticut State, 4-0, and Bard, 2-0. His pair of goals puts him second on the team in points with 10 and second in goals with four.
 
 
DIVISION III - SOUTH
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Leo Herrmann – Franciscan University
 
Herrmann finished the week with three goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal against Waynesburg in two overtimes. Herrmann's seven points this week pushed his career total to 100, making him the fastest Baron to reach this milestone.He is currently tied for the top spot in the country in total goals (12) and is fifth with 25 points.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Nich Leaman – Grove City College, Sr., OB
 
Leaman's work at outside back helped Grove City record two wins last week. He helped limit No. 13 Carnegie Mellon to four shots on goal Friday in Grove City's 2-1 win. Leaman also assisted Grove City's game-tying goal against Carnegie Mellon.
 
Rookie of the Week
Christian Caporaso – Grove City College, Fr. M
 
Caporaso scored the tying goal Friday in Grove City’s 2-1 victory over No. 13 Carnegie Mellon. He also scored Tuesday in the Wolverines’ 5-1 win over NAIA-Point Park.
