ECAC Announces Corvias Women's Basketball Players of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8.
 
DIVISION II
Player of the Week
Kristen Drogsler – Caldwell University, Jr.
 
Drogsler averaged 17 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a 2-0 week. She totaled eight points, seven rebounds and four assists in a win against Goldey-Beacom. The junior posted a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds with five assists and two steals in a win against Holy Family.
 
Rookie of the Week
Jackie DelliSanti – Pace University, Fr., G
 
DelliSanti had the best week of her rookie campaign so far, averaging 15.0 points and five rebounds while shooting 72.2 percent from the field in a pair of games for the Setters. She had a career day on Saturday at Merrimack, scoring a season-high 21 points with six rebounds after going nine-of-13 from the field. DelliSanti made four-of-five shots in just 19 minutes in Wednesday's matchup at Saint Anselm, adding four boards and a pair of steals.
 
DIVISION III - METRO
 
Player of the Week
Christina Pasaturo – College of Staten Island, Jr., G
 
Pasaturo scored a career-high 34 points against Medgar Evers College on Friday. She averaged 28.5 points last week with seven rebounds. For the season, she is averaging 21.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest.
 
Rookie of the Week
De’Mean Bond – Kean University, Fr., C
 
Bond posted a 16-point, 19-rebound performance in a last-minute comeback win over Rowan in Kean’s lone game of the week. In her first collegiate start, she produced her sixth double-double of the season. Her two free throws with 2:11 remaining kicked off a rally that erased an eight-point deficit as the Cougars went on to win 77-72. Her 19 rebounds were a career high, eclipsing an earlier mark of 16, and the game was the fift- straight double-digit rebounding performance for the rookie. She shot 42.0 percent (5-12) for the game including a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line.
 
 
DIVISION III – NEW ENGLAND
 
Player of the Week
Ava Adamopoulos – Springfield College, Sr., C
 
Adamopoulos averaged 19.5 points, seven rebounds and 2.5 blocks per contest on the week. In a 72-63 win over Clark, Adamopoulos netted 18 points to go along with seven rebounds and four blocks, before leading Springfield College to a convincing 73-55 win over MIT with 21 points on 10-of-14 (71.4 percent) shooting, seven rebounds and a pair of assists in just 24 minutes.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kyra Rose – Fitchburg State, Fr., G


Rose averaged 33 points, six rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in a pair of contest for the Falcons. The rookie netted a game-best 27 points (8-for-16), eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in a setback to Westfield State before tying a Fitchburg State single-game points record with 39 to go along with four boards and two steals in a 71-58 setback to Colby-Sawyer College.
 
 
DIVISION III – NORTH
 
Player of the Week
Catie Nealon – Marywood University, Jr., G
 
Nealon led the Pacers to three CSAC wins with 12.7 points per game. She set new career highs with 18 points and nine rebounds in a win over Immaculata. Nealon scored six straight second-quarter points to regain the Pacers' lead for good. She also put together 14 points in a victory at Keystone.
 
Rookie of the Week
Sophie Nick – Vassar College, Fr., F
 
Nick matched her career-high with 18 points against RIT on Friday before setting a new personal best with 19 points against William Smith the next day. In Vassar's 83-72 win over RIT, the freshman notched her third-straight double-double (18 points, 12 rebounds, three assists) to lead the Brewers to victory. Against William Smith on Saturday, Nick added five boards and a block to go along with her new career-high. In the second half, Nick capped a 10-2 run with a pair of buckets to give the Brewers their largest lead of the game, 52-44.
 
 
DIVISION III – SOUTH
 
Player of the Week
Sara Tarbert – Stevenson University, Sr., F
 
Tarbert was impressive in a 1-1 week in conference play for the Mustangs. In a 69-68 road loss at No. 24 Messiah, the senior led all scorers with 37 points while shooting 15-of-22 (68 percent) from the field with 13 rebounds (12 defensive), three blocks, two assists and two steals. Tarbert also became Stevenson’s all-time leading scorer in the victory. In a 69-61 win over Lycoming, Tarbert recorded her second double-double of the week with 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals. Tarbert finished the week averaging 27 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, three blocks, 2.5 assists and 67 percent (22-of-33) from the field.
 
Rookie of the Week
Makayla Filiere – Carnegie Mellon University, Fr., G
 
Filiere opened UAA play with 20 points, four rebounds and two assists in an 87-78 loss to Case Western Reserve University. It was her third-straight double-digit scoring game and her sixth of the season. She shot 43.8 percent from the floor and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
