Moravian Selected as Overall Top Seed for ECAC Division III Men's Basketball Tournament

DANBURY, Conn.
 – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the field for the 2017 ECAC Division III Men’s Basketball Championship presented by Visit Myrtle Beach with Moravian College selected as the overall top seed after finishing the season with a 19-8 overall record.  
 
This year’s men’s tournament features a field of 12 teams with the top four seeds receiving byes in the first round of play. The top four seeds for the tournament will be: No. 1 Moravian College (19-8), No. 2 DeSales University (18-9), No. 3 Seed Penn State Behrend (19-7), No. 4 Seed Carnegie Mellon University (14-11).
The first round of games to be played on Wednesday, March 1 will see SUNY Canton (19-8) host Pine Manor College (16-9), Stockton University (14-11) host Baruch College (18-9), Bethany College (15-12) host Penn State Altoona (14-13) and Westminster College (15-11) host Juniata College (13-12).
 
Winners of Wednesday evening’s regional matchups will travel to Penn State Behrend on Friday, March 3 for the quarterfinal round. Penn State Behrend will serve as host for the weekend.

First Round – Wednesday, March 1
Game 1: Pine Manor College (16-9) at SUNY Canton (19-8)
Game 2: Baruch College (18-9) at Stockton University (14-11)
Game 3: Penn State Altoona (14-13) at Bethany College (15-12)
Game 4: Juniata College (13-12) at Westminster College (15-11)
 
Quarterfinals – Friday, March 3
Game 5: 11am Moravian College (19-8) vs. Winner Bethany/Altoona
Game 6: 2 pm DeSales University (18-9) vs. Winner Juniata/Westminster
Game 7: 5 pm Carnegie Mellon University (14-11) vs. Winner Stockton/Baruch
Game 8: 8 pm Penn State Behrend (19-7) vs. Winner SUNY Canton/Pine Manor
 
Semifinals – Saturday, March 4 – hosted at Penn State Behrend
Game 9: 3pm Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 7
Game 10: 6pm Winner of Game 6 vs. Winner of Game 8
 
Championship – Sunday, March 5 – hosted at Penn State Behrend at 1:00 pm
