ECAC Announces Riders of the Week Ending October 5

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Equestrian Riders of the Week for the week ending October 5.

Dual Discipline
Fences: Daphne Stavig - UT Martin
Daphne Stavig won her point in her first start as a Skyhawk in the fences against UMNC and garnered MOP honors for her ride, helping to secure a team victory against the Golden Eagles.

Flat: Kayla Scherer - South Dakota State
Kayla received an 83 on Elton against UMNC's 63, earning her first career MOP for this ride. She remained undefeated for the weekend when she posted 70-63 against UTM on Annie. She remains undefeated on the flat this season.

Horsemanship: Emma Mutnanksy - UMN Crookston (Pictured)
Sophomore Emma Mutnansky started her weekend of with a statement against South Dakota State, riding Knight second to edge her opponent's 76 with a score of 76.5. Her ride on Knight earned her MOP honors in the event, and her 76.5 tied for the highest score in the horsemanship of all three meets hosted at SDSU this weekend. She continued her success versus #10-ranked UT Martin, riding SDSU's Louie second to edge her opponent 75-74.5. This was the highest score of all six riders who rode Louie at SDSU this weekend, and Mutnansky was the only horsemanship rider out of the three meets hosted by SDSU to post a score of 75 or better in both of her rides. Mutnansky's performances this weekend move her to 3-0-0 record in Horsemanship this season.

Reining: Elise Mason - UT Martin
Elise Mason defeated her UMNC opponent by four points and earned MOP honors for her ride and helping to secure a team win. She tied her point against SDSU.

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-five-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.
