Brockport Dominates in Robert M. "Scotty" Whitelaw Bowl Victory Over Geneva
BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Brockport was crowned champions of the 2025 ECAC Robert M. "Scotty" Whitelaw Bowl Game following a dominant 46-10 victory over Geneva College on Saturday afternoon from Bob Boozer Field.
Brockport (7-4) leaned heavily on the game’s MVP, running back Isaiah Simmons, who rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns on just 21 carries. Quarterback Ben Gocella was efficient under center, completing 8-of-14 pass attempts for 88 yards and two touchdowns, including one each to Daniel Manneh and Luke Lockhart.
Geneva (6-5) opened the game with a 32-yard field goal on its first drive from scrimmage to pick up a 3-0 advantage with 9:28 to play in the first quarter, but that would be the Golden Tornadoes' only lead of the game as Brockport scored 46 unanswered points over the next three quarters of play to put the game away.
The Golden Eagles led by a 32-3 score at the half, allowing their defense - one of the nation’s best between the lines - to pin its ears back and limit Geneva to just 99 offensive yards, including a -29 total on the ground. Brockport recorded seven total sacks in the contest as first-year lineman Jayden Farrell led the way with nine tackles, four tackles for loss, and three sacks.
