PHILADELPHIA – The Eastern College Athletic Conference hosted the semifinal round of the Men’s Indoor Tennis Championship on Saturday, with Princeton and top-seeded Harvard punching their ticket to Sunday’s championship final. The tournament is being hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at Hecht Tennis Center and will wrap up on Sunday afternoon.

Yale opened the day with a 4-0 defeat of Brown, including wins in the top two doubles flights for the first point of the day. Vignesh Gogineni took the top singles flight to make it 2-0, while Krish Gupta came away with a win on Court 5 and Jason Shuler earned the clinch with a 7-5, 6-2 victory on Court 2.

Delaware picked up the doubles point against Dartmouth, but the Big Green answered with a win in #6 singles to tie the match at 1-1. Dartmouth’s Hikaru Takeda and Delaware’s Euan Mackenzie alternated wins, but Big Green junior Henry Ren and Miles Groom earned back-to-back victories to close out the match.

The Crimson picked up where they left off on Friday, rolling to a 4-0 victory over Penn in the championship semifinal. Masato Perera and Peter Benjamin Privard held off Penn’s top doubles tandem to earn the first point, and they then joined Melchior Delloye as Harvard players to pick up wins in singles action.

The final match of the day saw Cornell take the first two points, only for Princeton to storm back with three consecutive wins in singles play. Adit Sinha kept the Big Red alive with a three-set victory on Court 3, but Aleksandar Mitric came up big with a three-set win of his own on Court 6 to put the Tigers in Sunday’s final.

Yale and Dartmouth will now play for fifth place on Sunday, while Brown and Delaware will battle for seventh. Cornell and Penn will meet in the third-place match at 2:00 p.m, while Harvard and Princeton will face off in the championship final at 5:00 p.m.
