ECAC Announces Men's Gymnastics Awards For Week Ending March 2
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced it’s weekly awards for Men’s Gymnastics for the week ending March 2.
Gymnast of the Week
Evan Wilkins – William & Mary, So.
Evan Wilkins helped lead the Tribe to a win this weekend. He highlighted W&M's individual performances with a pair of first-place finishes, coming on high bar (13.1) and on rings (13.2). Wilkins also placed second on floor with a 13.3.
Routine of the Week
Maddox Pabellon – Army, Jr. (Pictured)
Maddox recorded the highest pommel horse score in the ECAC this season. He broke the previous high he set on January 11th by 0.45 to tally a 14.550. It was also the second highest score in the country this past weekend, trailing only recently added USA Senior National Team member, Brandon Dang, who recorded a 14.700 at the same competition. His E-score (9.450) was the highest E-score out of any pommel routine in the country this season. This routine helped him jump back into 6th position in the NCAA Rankings.
Rookie of the Week
Kaleb Palacio – Springfield College, So.
Kaleb Palacio continues to improve every competition. Against Navy, Kaleb placed in the top three on three events taking the Vault title with a 14.3. He also placed 4th on pommel horse with a 12.9. Kaleb won the All Around title and increased his career high a full point scoring a 77.7. This puts him ranked first in average in the ECAC in the All Around currently.
