BOSTON – The ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships continued on Saturday, with the Rhode Island men and the women of Binghamton moving atop their respective leaderboards. The Rams sit at 32 points on the men’s side, just 11 ahead of second place, while the Bearcat women are already up to 46 as a team.

After winning both the heptathlon long jump and high jump on Friday, Coppin State’s Andrew Betton closed out the weekend as the individual champion behind another a win in the 60 hurdles (8.61) and two second-place finishes on Saturday. Betton finished with a total of 4759 points, holding off a trio of Vermont athletes to claim the top spot on the podium.

The men’s high jump saw Rhode Island’s Matthew Santy and Ivan Lytovchenko of Manhattan match one another with a first-place distance of 2.04m (6’ 8¼”) to finish as co-champions. Leeann Redlo gave Towson a win on the women’s side, as her new PR mark of 1.80m (5’ 10¾”) was good enough to land her inside the top 40 in the nation.

Richmond sophomore Molly Wise took home the individual crown in the women’s long jump, doing so with a distance of 5.95m (19’ 6¼”). Santy struck again in the men’s long jump, coming away with first (7.07m/23’ 2½”) despite a PR from Point Park’s Maxwell Goode (7.00m/22’ 11¾”), who landed in second place.

Paul Brennan, a senior from Manhattan, earned first in the men’s weight throw behind a mark of 20.15m (66’ 1½”), while Northeastern’s Hope Belvit (18.27m/59’ 11¼”) took home the women’s title. Mount St. Mary’s snagged two of the top three individuals in the women’s pole vault, as Emelie Beckman (4.05m/13’ 3½”) claimed first and teammate Julia Kirschnick (3.85m/12’ 7½”) took third.

The only two track events that crowned a champion on Saturday were the 5K races, and both were won by upperclassmen. Junior Henry Didden (14:25.52) of Bucknell held on against Richmond’s Henry Haase (14:25.67) and teammate Grayson Crocket (14.28.83) in the men’s race, and Northeastern senior Azza Borovicka-Swanson took first on the women’s side behind a PR time of 16:38.28.

The meet is slated to wrap up on Sunday, with the first event of the day beginning at 9:30 a.m. To follow live results, please click here.
