ECAC Announces Riders of the Week Ending March 8
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Equestrian Riders of the Week for the week ending March 8.
Dual Discipline
Fences: Julianna Gullo - SDSU
Julianna defeated her conference opponent on neutral territory at South Carolina against DSU. She rode Murphy to an 81 and the MOP. She was also the meet's highest score.
Flat: Carmen Gonzalez - UC Davis
Sophomore Carmen Gonzalez delivered the highest score of the season in Flat against UT Martin with an outstanding 95 aboard Smilla. Her performance earned her MOP honors and the event-high score for the discipline, leading the way for the Aggies' 4-1 victory in the event to close out the regular season.
Horsemanship: Ruby Gunderson - UT Martin (Pictured)
Ruby Gunderson went undefeated in Horsemanship last weekend, posting a 3–0 record against Fresno State, Baylor, and UC Davis during a tough West Coast road trip. At UC Davis, she earned the highest score of the meet with a 76.5, defeating her ECAC opponent by 4.5 points. Her strong performances helped lead the Skyhawks in a challenging stretch of competition.
Reining: Avery Adamson - UC Davis
Sophomore Avery Adamson capped off the day in Reining against UT Martin with an event-high 74.5 aboard Mr. T, earning MOP honors for her ride. Her five-point victory over her opponent solidified the Aggies' 5-0 sweep of the event and put the finishing touches on the 14-5 meet victory.
Single Discipline
Fences: Cassidy Exner - Dartmouth College
Team Captain Cassidy Exner laid down a stellar round riding Centenary's Halifax. Her performance earned an 86-81 win.
Flat: Grace Russo - Dartmouth College
Grace turned in an impressive double-digit point win on the road at Centenary College. She rode Elverton to an 84-71 victory.

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-five-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.
