Race to the "Betty" Heats Up as ECAC/Jets Flag Football Enters Crucial Stretch
DANBURY, Conn. — The race to the postseason is heating up as the ECAC/Jets Women's Flag Football season charges into the second half of Week 8. With playoff spots on the line and the coveted “Betty" championship trophy in sight, teams across the league are hitting their stride at just the right time. From undefeated powerhouses to surging contenders, the standings reflect a league brimming with parity, intensity, and ambition.
Current Standings (as of April 15):
Tonight kicks off with a pivotal clash as Mercyhurst defends its home turf against Allegheny. With both teams eyeing playoff positioning, every possession could prove decisive.
The spotlight then shifts to a blockbuster weekend hosted by Penn State Schuylkill, welcoming Eastern, Marymount, and Wagner. All eyes will be on the showdown between Marymount and Wagner—two dominant forces battling for the top spot in the standings and postseason momentum.
Sunday brings even more action as Franciscan faces Allegheny in a doubleheader. Franciscan, currently on the rise, will look to capitalize on the opportunity to break into the top three and solidify its contender status.
With less than a month remaining in the regular season, the countdown to the playoffs is underway. The ECAC/Jets Women's Flag Football Championship will take place May 2–3 at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center, where the league's best will compete for the title.
