Scarlet Raptors defeat Bearcats in ECAC Women’s Tennis Title Match

MEDFORD, N.J. – The ECAC Division III Women’s Tennis Championship wrapped up on Saturday afternoon, with Rutgers-Camden defeating Baruch 4-2 in the final. Jilliane Jaugan was named MVP after bouncing back from a set loss in singles action to win the lone three-setter of the day, earning a crucial point for the Scarlet Raptors.
 
The win improves the Scarlet Raptors to 13-5 on the season, while the loss drops Baruch to 9-8.
 
Match Details:
Rutgers-Camden picked up the doubles point with a 6-3 victory on Court 3 before Bella and Gabby Albert teamed up to finish it off with a 6-4 win on Court 2. Lucia Herranz Sanchez opened singles play with a 6-2, 6-0 defeat of Grace Albert in the third flight, getting Baruch on the scoreboard and tying the match at 1-1.  
 
Bella Albert followed with a 6-4, 6-0 win on Court 4 to put Rutgers-Camden in front 2-1,  but Aishika Yadav again pulled the Bearcats even with a 6-2, 6-0 win in the top singles flight. Jaugan pulled off the win on Court 2, and Katie Moore added the final point of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory on Court 5.
