NYU wins 2005 ECAC Division III Metro Men's Golf Championship
CORTLAND MANOR, N.Y. - New York University won the 2005 ECAC Men’s Division III Metro Golf Championship, which was played in windy and rainy conditions throughout most of the round, on Thursday, September 29, at the Hollow Brook Golf Club.
The Violets totaled 310 strokes over the par-71, 6,182-yard course and easily defeated Manhattanville College (344) and Yeshiva University (395).
NYU junior John Pharr won the individual championship with a round of 75 (37-38). The Violets also claimed the next two spots, as sophomore Matt McGinnis finished second (76, 37-39) and senior Charles Kerecz (79, 40-39) tied for third (with Manhattanville's Greg Hayner (79, 41-38).
