Cornell Captures the 2006 ECAC Division I Women's Cross Country Title

Van Cortlandt Park, NY - Cornell University won the 2006 ECAC
Division I Women’s Cross Country Championships at Van
Cortlandt Park. The Big Red had five runners finish in
the top 20. Princeton’s freshman Reilly Kiernan
took the individual honor with a time of 5:46.6. Senior Dana
Hastie of Stony Brook was second (5:48.6) while seniors Akilah
Vargas of Villanova (5:49.6), Meghan Bishop of William & Mary
(5:50.2) and Laurel Jefferson of Maryland (5:50.8) rounded out the
top five.
The Big Red took home the top honors with a low score of 57.
William & Mary (61) finished second, Villanova (79) was third,
Princeton (91) fourth and Maryland (152) was fifth.
Completing the top 10 were Yale (175), Georgetown (20), Columbia
(207), Delaware (238) and James Madison (251).
In the University level race, Binghamton sophomore Katie Radzik
crossed the finish line first with a 5:48.6 time. Colgate
took the team award with 47 points while Bucknell and
Binghamton tied for a distant second with 118 points
each.
