Williams Claims 2007 ECAC Division III Womens Cross Country Title

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams Lady Ephs took home the 2007 ECAC Division III Women's Cross Country Championship, scoring 47 points to top Amherst College which had a total of 63. Middlebury finished in third place with 104 points, and the College of New Jersey (155) followed by Colby College (172) rounded out the top five schools. Thirty-one squads participated in the event, held at Mt. Greylock High School.
Amherst's Katie Moravec led from the very beginning, crossing
the finish line in a time of 23:03 to
narrowly edge out teammate Kristen Ballinger (23:04) for the
win. Sara McGuigan of Coast Guard Academy claimed third place
with a time of 23:10.
Although Amherst placed three in the top five finishers, Williams managed 6th, 7th, 9th, 11th, and 14th place finishes from its top five runners to win the team event.
