ECAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards (for the week ending April 29, 2012)

Division II

Defensive Player of the Week

Jeff White – LeMoyne College
Junior, Goalkeeper, Buffalo, N.Y.
 

White helped LeMoyne complete its 12th undefeated regular season in the last 13 years with 11 saves in a 9-2 win over Saint Anselm on Saturday.  The junior made five saves in the fourth quarter to keep the Hawks out of reach.

 

Division III New England

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Michael Sullinger – Eastern Connecticut State University
Senior, Attack, Brookfield, Conn.

Sullinger recorded 14 points on seven goals and seven assists to help the Warriors clinch the top seed in the upcoming Little East Conference tournament.  The senior scored a season-high 10 points, including a season-best seven markers en route to a 20-5 win over UMass Boston in Eastern Connecticut’s regular season finale.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Dan Perednia – Gordon College
Senior, Midfielder, Granby, Conn.

Perednia scored the game-winning goal in overtime to help the Fighting Scots defeat the University of New England in the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament quarterfinals.  The senior finished the game with a season-high five goals.

Defensive Player of the Week

Sam Ozycz – Endicott College
Junior, Midfielder, Cheshire, Conn.

Ozycz was the catalyst for the Gulls in a 16-4 CCC tournament win over No. 6 Nichols.  The junior collected 14 groundballs, winning 19-of-22 face-offs, tying a season-high.

Division III Mid-Atlantic

Offensive Player of the Week

Brock Levick – Medaille College
Sophomore, Attack, Newmarket, Ontario

Levick, in his sophomore season, became Medaille’s all-time leader in goals, tallying 14 goals over the weekend to bring his career total to 115.  The attacker posted a pair of seven-goal performances against Hilbert and Penn State Abington, helping the Mavericks clinch the fourth and final seed in the NEAC men’s lacrosse tournament this upcoming weekend.

 

Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Matthew Deiner – Stevens Institute of Technology
Freshman, Goalkeeper, Millstone Township, N.J.

Deiner made 22 saves and only allowed six goals in more than 111 minutes of action in two wins against Empire 8 Conference opponents.  The freshman made 11 stops against Ithaca in an 11-3 win, helping the Ducks handed the Bombers their first conference loss of the season.  Deiner followed his initial performance with 11 saves in a 17-4 win over Hartwick.

 

Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Mike Kaminski – SUNY Cortland
Junior, Goalkeeper, Sayville, N.Y.

Kaminkski earned two wins to help nationally-ranked No. 2 Cortland finish its first unbeaten regular season in school history.  The junior had a .688 save percentage over two games, making a combined 11 saves while allowing five goals in over 82 minutes of action.
