Juniata College Selected as Top seed in 2009 ECAC Division III South Softball Championship

CAPE COD, Mass. -- After finishing the regular-season with a 24-11 record, Juniata College was selected as the number one seed in the 2009 ECAC Division III South Softball Championship. The tournament is an five-team field with a quarterfinal round followed by a double-elimination format for the remaining four teams.

In the first round contest on Wednesday, May 6 No. 4 seed Misericordia will host No. 5 Frostburg State (26-17) at 4:00 p.m.  

On Saturday, No. 1 seed Juniata will host the winner of the Misericordia/Frostburg State game at 10 a.m. in game one, while No. 2 Centenary College (24-12) will face No. 3 Bethany College (23-19) at 12:00 p.m. in game two at Juniata. The winner of the Juniata game will move on to game four to face the winner of Bethany/Centenary at 4:00 pm, while the losers will face off in game three at 2:00 p.m.

The loser of the game four contest will meet the winner of game three in game five at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 10. The winner of game five will meet at 12:00 p.m. to decide the championship. If necessary, game seven will be played immediately following game six at 2:00 p.m.
