Div. III Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Division III - New England
Player of the Week
Brian Zukowski - Wheaton College
Senior, Guard, Dracut, Mass.
Zukowski was named MVP after leading the Lyons to the Salem
State Christmas Tournament title over the weekend, as he averaged
20.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 steals from his
point guard position. He also knocked down 17-of-20 free throws
attempts and canned five three-pointers. Zukowski collected 23
points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals during the
Lyons' 71-67 opening-round victory over Fitchburg State, as he hit
10-of-12 freebie tries. In the championship game against the host
Vikings, he had 17 points, six assists, five boards and four steals
during a 75-65 win. This is the second time this season Zukowski
has earned NEWMAC Player of the Week honors.

Player of the Week
Joe Canori - Nazareth College
Junior, Guard, Webster, N.Y.
Canori averaged 22 points in four games and
surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career. He tallied 27
points in an overtime loss to 17th-ranked Wheaton (IL) to eclipse
the 1,000-point barrier and extended his career total to 1,038
points with 28 points in a loss to Staten Island on Saturday.
Canori totaled 33 points in home wins over Pitt-Bradford and Old
Westbury on Dec. 19 and 21.

Player of the Week
Jeffrey Boone - York College
Senior, Forward, Rosedale, N.Y.
The senior averaged 25.5 points, 7.0 rebounds,
and 4.0 steals in a pair of contests last week at the Wittenberg
Invitational in Springfield, Ohio. The Rosedale, New York
native poured in 27 points (11-of-19 fga) and added five rebounds
and three steals in the opening game loss to host Wittenberg
(12/29). Boone followed that up with 24 points (7-of-14 fga),
nine boards, and five steals in the consolation game victory
against Thiel (12/30).

Division III - South
Co-Player of the Week
Ryan Einwag - Carnegie Mellon University
Sophomore, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Einwag led the Carnegie Mellon University team to a 1-1 record
over the break. In the Tartans 64-63 victory over Capital
University Einwag finished the game with 22 points and eight
rebounds, while shooting 64% from the field (7-of-11). Einwag
also led the way in the Tartans loss to Bluffton with 16 points and
11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. He
averaged 19 points, 9.5 rebounds and three assists for the
Tartans.
Ryne Murray - Westminster College
Freshman, Forward, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Murray led Westminster to a 3-1 holiday mark by averaging 17.3
points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He was named MVP of the Marietta
Shrine Tournament after averaging 20.0 points and 10.5 rebounds as
the Titans won the tournament title with wins over Olivet (80-67)
and host Marietta (98-73).
