Southern Connecticut Wins 2008 ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Championship

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Southern Connecticut State University finished with an overall score of 187.625, narrowly defeating the University of Bridgeport (187.200) to win the 2008 ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Championship. The hosts from West Chester University took third place with a score of 174.075.
Justine Basley of Southern Connecticut had the best All-Around performance, scoring a 38.200 with top marks in both the Uneven Parallel Bars (9.700) and Balance Beam (9.700), and second place in the Floor Exercise (9.450). Bridgeport's Lorraine Galow finished second in the All-Around with a 37.625, and Southern Connecticut's Erika Pysh came in right behind her with a score of 37.150.
Breanna Collins of Bridgeport registered a 9.650 in the Floor Exercise to take the top spot, while teammate Yvette Mirando used the same score to earn first place on the Vault.
Southern Connecticut's Taylor Murray was tabbed 'Most Outstanding Performer' of the championship.
