Christina Ghani, Towson University

Ghani won the all-around, vault and floor this past Saturday at Penn. She was also placed second on beam.
Rookie of the Week
Chelsey Binkley, Brown University
Freshman, Marietta, GA

After recently recovering from foot surgery and a knee injury, Binkley stepped up and competed all-around for the first time in her collegiate career. She showed both composure and determination, leading her team in a meet against UCLA, Cal State Fullerton and Wisconsin Eau Claire. She earned the top all-around score for the Bears this weekend. Binkley is already proving to be a strong leader for her team, by the example she sets in the gym and on the competition floor.
Specialist of the Week
Danielle Viens, Temple University
Senior, Mansfield, Conn.
Score from the week:
UB: 9.75
Viens finished tied for third in the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.750 at last weekend's George Washington Invitational. She finished mere percentage points shy of the winner, Stephanie Pannick of Rutgers.
Coach's Choice
Sherry Yang, Yale University
Freshman, Potomac, Md.

UB: 9.4
Yang was injured in her senior year of competition during high school. She re-injured her foot (nerve damage) in October. Knowing Yale is in need of her performance; Yang asked and was allowed to compete bars. With less than 10 day preparation, she made her bar routine and placed third in the Nutmeg State Championships with a 9.40. She showed courage and maturity and caring for the Yale team.

Gymnast of the Week
Sophia Harrison, Massachusetts Institute of
Technology
Senior, Laguna Hills, Calif.
In a quadrangular meet against Ursinus College, Wilson College and Rhode Island College on January 19th, Harrison won vault with a 9.40, the uneven bars, with a personal best 9.725 and the all-around with a 37.85. Her all-around score was just .025 off her personal best. She also finished second on beam and floor.
Specialist of the Week
Jeanna Bradle, Springfield College
Sophomore, New Milford, Conn.
Bradle was the high score for Springfield on vault (9.475) and uneven bars (9.125) in a meet against tough competition at UC Davis. This was a strong start for Bradle in her first meet of the season where she also performed on floor. What impressed the Pride coaches was her team leadership shown through her confidence and consistency in each routine.
Rookie of the Week
Kasey Cutler, SUNY-Cortland
Freshman, East Hampton, Conn.
Cutler improved her performance on uneven bars, effectively completing a D to D release combination for the second consecutive meet. Her improvement in consistency is a highlight for her so far this year. She finished in a tie for second place with a score of 9.4 in a home meet against Brockport on Sunday, January 20, 2008.
