ECAC Men's West All-Conference Teams Presented By Turfer Athletic Announced

Cape Cod, Mass. - Commissioner of the ECAC Rudy Keeling announced today the ECAC Men's West All-Conference teams for the 2007-08 season. The team is voted on by the coaches of the league each year.

Senior forward Mike Richard (LaSalle, Quebec/Gloucester Rangers, CJHL) of Elmira College and senior forward Shawn Houde (Manchester, New Hampshire/Brewster Academy) from Hobart College earned Co-Player of the Year Honors in the ECAC Men's West. Richard scored seven goals and added 17 assists for 24 points in Men's West play. Houde led the Statesmen with 13 points in league play, scoring six goals and adding seven assists. Hobart College forward Matt Wallace (Skaneatleles, New York/Syracuse Stars) received Rookie of the Year honors. Wallace was fourth in Men's East rookie scoring totaling nine points on four goals and five assists.

Tim Ceglarski, who is in his seventh season behind the bench at Elmira College, has been named the Coach of the Year in the ECAC Men's West. Ceglarski guided the Soaring Eagles to a regular season ECAC Men's West title, and will look to capture the Men's West Tournament title this weekend at home against Manhattanville College.

Joining Richard and Houde on the All-ECAC West First Team are forwards Neil Trimm (Westmeath, Ontario/Pembroke Lumber Kings Jr. A) of Neumann College and Manhattanville junior Chris Trafford (Kinburn, Ontario/Kanata Stallions, CJHL). The All-ECAC West First Team defensemen are junior Nic Dumoulin (Quebec/St. Jerome Panthers, LHJAAAQ) from Elmira College and Manhattanville Valiant sophomore AJ Mikkelsen (Alberta/Drumheller Dragons AJHL). The First Team All-ECAC West goalie is Keith Longo (Hopedale, Massachusetts/Central Texas). The Hobart net minder compiled a .928 save percentage and 2.57 goals against average in ECAC Men's West play.
