ECAC Men's West All-Conference Teams Announced

Commissioner of the ECAC Rudy Keeling announced today the ECAC Men's West All-Conference teams for the 2008-09 season. The team is voted on by the coaches of the league each year.

Senior forward Chris Trafford (Kinburn, Ontario/Kanata Stallions, CJHL) of Manhattanville College earned Player of the Year Honors in the ECAC Men's West. Trafford scored 13 goals and added 9 assists for 22 points in Men's West play. Utica College forward Tim Coffman (Elverson, New York/Laconia, AJHL)) received Rookie of the Year honors. Coffman led the Men's West rookie scoring totaling 21 points on seven goals and 14 assists. Junior Dillon Henningson (Edmonton, Alberta/La Ronge Ice Wolves) of Manhattanville and T.J. Schneider (Spring City, Pennsylvania/La Ronge Ice Wolves, SJHL) of Utica received Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Mark Taylor of Hobart College and Keith Levinthal of Manhattanville College, have been named Co-Coach of the Year in the ECAC Men's West. Taylor guided the Statesmen to a 9-4-2 league record, and will look to capture the Men's West Tournament title this weekend at home against Neumann College. Levinthal, who is in his 10th season behind the Valiants bench, led the Valiants to a 8-3-4 league record and second place in the Men's West standings.

Joining Trafford and Coffman on the All-ECAC West First Team are forwards Nick DeCroo (Sarver, Pennsylvania/Bentley) of Hobart College and Neumann senior Mike Hedden (St. Catherines, Ontario/Thorold Blackhawks). The All-ECAC West First Team defensemen are sophomore Karl Linden (Stockholm, Sweden/Bradford Rattlers, GMJHL) from Elmira College and Hobart senior Andy Brennan (Milford, Massachusetts/Tabor Academy). The First Team All-ECAC West goalie is Keith Longo (Hopedale, Massachusetts/Central Texas). The Hobart net minder compiled a .943 save percentage and 1.97 goals against average in ECAC Men's West play.
