2016 ECAC DIII Volleyball First Round

DANBURY, CT - The first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Volleyball concluded Wednesday, Nov. 9. After the first day of competition, Marymount University sits atop the tournament field with a 3-0 win, while eight schools have been eliminated.

The Marymount (Va.) University women's volleyball team advanced to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Championship Weekend after cruising past Penn State University-Altoona on Wednesday afternoon in straight sets, 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-19).

GAME 2: No. 1 Emerson def. No. 4 Morrisville State, 3-0

The Emerson women's volleyball team played host to tri-match in the first round of the ECAC Division III Volleyball championships on Wednesday afternoon at Brown & Plofker Gym. The top ranked Lions faced visiting No. 4 Morrisville State Mustangs in the first match of the day and took a 3-0 sweep.

The Moravian College women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 sweep of Neumann University in the opening round of the 2016 ECAC Division III Championship Tournament Wednesday at Swarthmore College.

GAME 4: No. 3 FDU-Florham def. No. 2 Arcadia, 3-0

The FDU-Florham women's volleyball team swept Arcadia 25-20, 27-25, 25-18 to advance to the Quarterfinals of the ECAC Tournament.

GAME 5: No. 2 Lebanon Valley def. No. 3 Rutgers-Camden, 3-1

Lebanon Valley's volleyball team dropped the opening set but dominated the next three to defeat Rutgers-Camden 3-1 in the First Round of the 2016 ECAC Division III Tournament on Wednesday night. The Dutchmen (22-10) will take on the hosts, Marymount University, in the quarterfinal round on Saturday at 11 a.m., while the Scarlet Raptors' season ended at 16-16.

GAME 6: No. 2 Manhattanville def. No. 3 Anna Maria, 3-0

The second match of the day consisted of No. 3 Anna Maria against No. 2 Manhattanville, where the Valiants defeated the Amcats in three straight sets.

GAME 7: No. 1 Swarthmore def. No. 4 Rutgers-Newark, 3-0

It took just under an hour for the Swarthmore College volleyball team (24-5) to pick up a sweep of the visiting Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders (15-14) in the first round of the ECAC Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The New York University women's volleyball team won its opening match of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship, defeating New Jersey City University on Wednesday, November 9, at NYU's Brooklyn Athletic Facility in Brooklyn, NY.

Saturday, Nov. 12 at Lebanon Valley College
GAME 9: No. 1 Swarthmore vs. No. 2 Moravian - 11:00 a.m.
GAME 10: No. 1 Emerson vs. No. 2 Manhattanville - 2:00 p.m.
GAME 11: No. 1 Marymount vs. No. 2 Lebanon Valley- 4:00 p.m.
GAME 12: No. 1 NYU vs. No. 3 FDU-Florham - 6:00 p.m.
