ECAC Announces Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week for Week Ending Oct. 29
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Men’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 29.
DIVISION III – Metro
Runner of the Week
Neil Saddler – SR, New York University
Neil Saddler finished second out of 77 runners at the 2017 University Athletic Association Championship. He finished the eight-kilometer course with a time of 26:06.2. The senior earned First-Team All-UAA recognition and helped lead the Violets to a fourth-place finish team finish.
DIVISION III – North
Runner of the Week
Grant O’Connor – JR, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute junior Grant O’Connor broke away from the pack early in the 2017 Liberty League Men's Cross Country Championship. His efforts earned him the individual victory. He ran the eight-kilometer race at a 5:00 per mile pace, crossing the finish line at 24:55.9. He was 16 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Rookie of the Week
Peter Ferretter – FR, Vassar College
Vassar College freshman Peter Ferretter was the first rookie to cross the finish line at the 2017 Liberty League Cross Country Championship. The freshman finished 21st overall out of 138 runners as he finished the eight-kilometer course in 26:54.1. He also earned All-Liberty League Honorable Mention.

Runner of the Week
Frank Livolsi – SO, Widener University
Frank Livolsi won the individual title at the 2017 MAC Men’s Cross Country Championship. The sophomore won the eight-kilometer race in a time of 26:08.4, more than five seconds before the second-place finisher. Livolsi was awarded the 2017 MAC Runner of the Year award for his performance.
Rookie of the Week
Liam Galligan – FR, Franciscan University of Steubenville
Franciscan University of Steubenville freshman Liam Galligan was the individual champion in a field of 58 at the AMCC championship, becoming the first individual champion for Franciscan since 2012. The freshman completed the eight-kilometer course in 26:23.
