Top-Seeded Penn State Behrend Wins, 3-1, over Penn State Harrisburg

ERIE, Pa.
– The top-seeded Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team won, 3-1, over Penn State Harrisburg in the 2017 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men's Soccer Championship Quarterfinals on Saturday. 
 
Penn State Behrend, the top seed of the tournament and no. 1 in the first pod, improved to 16-4-1 overall, while the Penn State Harrisburg, the fourth seed, dropped to 11-9 overall.
 
Behrend scored first when sophomore Richard Blanchard (Erie, PA) netted his seventh goal of the year with 28:03 on the clock; sophomore Nick Kisiel (Erie, PA) earned the assist. Penn State Behrend led 1-0 at intermission.
 
Penn State Harrisburg tied the game, 1-1, when sophomore Dustin Rohrbach (Hamburg, PA) registered an unassisted goal at the 46:33 mark.
 
Junior Ryan Maurer (Cranberry Twp, PA) put Penn State Behrend back on top, 2-1, with a 30-yard shot with 53:01 on the clock. Sophomore Aaron Harris (Washington, PA) earned the assist.
 
Senior Matt Dziadosz (Leechburg, PA) added insurance for Behrend, his tenth goal on the year, with a diving header with at the 65:19 mark, after receiving a pass from junior Dakota Lange (Apollo, PA).
 
Behrend’s sophomore goalkeeper Chris Ralph (Murrysville, PA) (13-2-1) collected five saves in 90 minutes of work.
 
Penn State Harrisburg outshot Penn State Behrend, 17-15. Both teams had three corner kicks.
 
Penn State Behrend will play the winner of the Grove City and Franciscan game on Sunday at 12 p.m. Sunday’s winner will advance to the Semifinals.
