Marywood Handles CCNY Behind Youngman’s Four Goals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Marywood scored early and often in a 9-1 rout of The City College of New York Saturday afternoon in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
Julie Youngman (North Brunswick, N.J.) scored four times and assisted on another goal for the second-seeded Pacers (13-6), who found the net four times in the first six minutes of the game.
After the four goals in the first six minutes, two of which were by Youngman, Marywood scored three more times before the half to take a 7-0 lead into intermission. Youngman had two of those, and
Taylor Yacuboski (Cresco, Pa.) added one.
Michaela Smith (Midland Park, N.J.) scored in the 67th minute to make the score 8-0, and
Grace Feeser (East Berlin, Pa.) made it 9-0 with her 84th-minute conversion.
The lone goal for third-seeded CCNY (8-6-2) came when
Gabrielle Duchaussee (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) found the net in the 84th minute.
Marywood took a whopping 42 shots in the game, 23 of which were on target. CCNY had three shots in the contest.
The Pacers head to the final of Pod 1 Sunday afternoon at noon and will face top-seeded Springfield College, who had a bye.
