ECAC Announces Pairings for 2017 DIII Women's Soccer Championship

DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the tournament field for the 2017 ECAC Division III Women's Soccer Championship. Quarterfinal play will begin on Saturday, November 11.

The overall top-seed will be Springfield College, who finished the season 14-6-1 and will receive a bye in the first round.

In pod 1, No. 2 seed Marywood University (12-6) will play No. 3 The City College of New York (8-5-2) at Springfield College (14-6-1).

In pod 2, No. 1 seed New York University (10-5-3) will play No. 4 William Paterson University (9-8-1). No. 3 seed FDU-Florham (12-6) will serve as the host for pod 2 and take on No. 2 seed Widener University (12-6).

In pod 3, No. 1 Grove City College (15-5) will take on No. 4 Franciscan College of Steubenville (10-9). No. 2 seed Frostburg State University (9-8-2) will host the weekend games and take on No. 3 seed Westminster College (10-8).

In pod 4, No. 1 Lebanon Valley College (9-6-3) will play No. 4 Penn State University-Harrisburg (12-7). The host for pod 4 will be No. 2 seed Albright College (10-8-1) will play No. 3 seed Juniata College (10-8).

The winners of each pod, will go on to compete in the semifinal rounds on Saturday, November 18.

Pod 1 First Round - Saturday, Nov. 11 & Sunday, Nov. 12 at Springfield College
Game 1 (Sat.): No. 2 seeded Marywood (12-6) vs No. 3 CCNY (8-5-2) at 2:00 p.m.

Game 2 (Sun.): Springfield College (14-6-1) vs. winner of game 1 at 12:00pm

Pod 2 First Round - Saturday, Nov. 11 & Sunday, Nov. 12 at FDU-Florham
Game 1 (Sat.): No. 1 seed NYU (10-5-3) vs. No. 4 William Paterson (9-8-1) at 5:30pm
