FDU-Florham Advances in Overtime

MADISON, N.J. - FDU-Florham senior
Marissa Kowalskie (Whippany, N.J.) scored the game-winning goal 12:37 into overtime to lead the Devils to a 1-0 win over Arcadia at Robert T. Shields Field Wednesday evening in the ECAC Division III Field Hockey Championship Quarterfinals.
Sophomore
Maggie Sohns (Tunkhannock, Pa.) fed the ball into the center where Kowalskie - who had subbed back into the game less than two minutes earlier - fired from point-blank range to earn her fourth game-winner and 10
th tally of the year.
Arcadia freshman goalkeep
er Maya Stern (Blandon, Pa.) finished the game with 10 saves and held FDU-Florham off the board with nine stops in regulation as the Devils outshot the Knights, 21-4 through 70 minutes.

Samantha Rubin (Marlton, N.J.), who earned her fourth shutout of the year with three stops.
Arcadia wraps up the year at 10-10. FDU-Florham (14-7) will face Widener in the semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at overall top seed Alvernia in Reading, Pa. The championship game is slated for a noon start on Sunday, Nov. 12 at Alvernia.
