Hobart Climbs, Utica Closes Season Ranked in USCHO, D3hockey.com Polls

DANBURY, Conn. – Hobart College and Utica College were both ranked nationally in the latest polls conducted by USCHO.com and D3hockey.com, announced Monday.
 
Hobart rose in both polls, climbing three spots to No. 4 in the USCHO voting and moving up one spot in the D3hockey.com rankings to sit in fifth. The Statesmen captured their third ECAC Men’s West Championship over the weekend, besting Utica 2-1 in overtime. Hobart will now face Endicott College in the first round of the 2017 Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship on Saturday at 7 p.m.
 
Utica climbed a spot to close the season ranked No. 14 in the USCHO poll, and finished at No. 13 in the D3hockey.com ranking. The Pioneers end the season with an 18-9 record overall, with the 18 wins standing as the second-highest total in a single season in program history.
