ABU's Taylor Named ECAC Acrobatics & Tumbling League Athlete of the Week
DANBURY, Conn. – Alderson Broaddus University freshman Chelsey Taylor has been named the ECAC Acrobatics & Tumbling League Athlete of the Week for the week of competition ending April 2, the league announced Monday.
Taylor competed in 10 events for the Battlers in their win over Glenville State College on Thursday, 275.920-247.080. The freshman started the meet by helping ABU build a slim advantage in the Compulsory portion, before contributing to a 9.85 out of 10 in the Acro event.
The first-year base then guided the Battlers to strong showings in the Pyramid scoring 9.3, 9.8 and 9.85 out of 10 in three attempts in the event. Taylor and ABU then notched scores of 9.5 and 9.7 out of 9.9 in the Toss to further stretch the lead over Glenville. She capped her performance by helping the Battlers total 98.72 in the Team event.
Taylor and ABU are next in action against Fairmont State on Friday, April 7.
