ECAC Announces Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Week Ending Sept. 10

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10.
 
DIVISION II
Offensive Player of the Week
Kayla Butts — Lincoln University, JR, F
 
Butts recorded her first career hat-trick in Friday night’s win over Hollins University. She needed just 49 seconds to score her first goal of the season, getting ahead of the field and scoring on a breakaway to put the Lions up 1-0 early. She added her second goal at the 12:41 mark, giving the Lions a 3-0 lead. The junior completed the hat trick just four minutes into the second half. She becomes just the sixth player in school history to record a hat-trick in the 16-year history of the program.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Olivia Drake — King University, SR, GK
 
Drake led King to an unbeaten week with a pair of shutouts. She started the week by making eight saves in a 0-0 draw at Mars Hill University for her first career solo shutout. The senior followed it with seven saves as King opened Conference Carolinas play with a 1-0 win at Erskine University on Saturday.
 
Rookie of the Week
Brittaney Reffit — West Chester University, FR, M
 
Reffit tallied a goal as well as an assist for a total of three points last week. The freshman registered a goal in a 2-0 victory over Clarion University, and also provided an assist in a 1-1 tie to Wilmington University on the road.
 
 
DIVISION III - NORTH
Offensive Player of the Week
Amanda Donohue — Penn State University-Behrend, SR, MF
 
The senior led the Lions to a 2-1 record this week, netting a goal in each of the three games. She netted the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Case Western Reserve University on Wednesday, before scoring the only goal against SUNY Owsego on Friday. Dononue then tallied the eventual game winner against SUNY Fredonia. For the week, Donohue scored three goals, including two game-winners, while being named to the all-tournament team at the Blue Devil Classic.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Elyse Green — Clarkson University, SO, GK
Green notched a pair of shutouts over the weekend and was busy in both affairs. She faced 19 total shots against Cortland State in a 0-0 double-overtime tie making seven saves overall. On Saturday, the sophomore produced six more saves in a 1-0 victory over Plattsburgh State.
 

DIVISION III – SOUTH
Offensive Player of the Week
Rileigh Jo Evitts — Lebanon Valley College, JR, F
 
The junior had a record-setting day in the Dutchmen’s 9-1 rout of Marywood University. Evitts matched the single-game program record for total points with 10, and tied the program’s single-game record with five goals in the win. The forward was credited with the game-winning goal. Evitts scored five-straight goals at the 21st, 22nd, 56th, 58th and 58th minute marks. Her last two goals were 32 seconds apart.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Brianna Williams — Arcadia University, FR, GK
 
The freshman recorded a 3-0 record last week for No. 20 Arcadia with a 0.67 goals against average and a .800 save percentage. Williams recorded back-to-back shutouts to begin the week, and allowed just two goals over 270 minutes of action. She made eight saves on 18 shots and then made four saves on six shots in a 5-0 win over Ursinus College. The freshman then made four saves on 11 shots in a 3-2 win over Muhlenberg.
 
Rookie of the Week
Carolyn Botz—Carnegie Mellon University, FR, GK
 
The freshman goalkeeper Carolyn Botz added two shutouts to her season total of three and lowered her season goals-against-average to 0.24 as the Tartans topped Capital University 5-0 on Friday.  Then the freshman goalie led the way in a 0-0 tie with Ohio Northern University on Saturday. Both games were played on the road.
