ECAC Announces Women's Gymnastics Weekly Awards

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announces its first instalment of weekly awards for the 2018 women's gymnastics season.
 
Division I
 
Gymnast of the Week
Kyra Levi – University of Pennsylvania, Sr., Pot Matilda, Pennsylvania
 
Levi, Co-captain of the squad had great start to her season. Levi anchored the uneven bars with an impressive score of 9.8 to lead the team for the event. The high score helped Penn finish with a team score of 47.075. The 9.8 was good enough for third overall at the meet. She capped off her day with a 9.6 in the floor exercise. 
 
Specialist of the Week
Jaylene Everett – Temple University, So., Harleysville, Pennsylvania
 
Everett started her season by posting a career high in the floor exercise. She led the Owls in the event with a 9.825 and an overall team score of 48.6, good enough for third at the Gold Out hosted by Towson. She continued her afternoon earning fourth place on the vault with a score of 9.725, Temples highest score in the vault.
 
Rookie of the Week
Jacey Baldovino – Yale University, Fr., Santa Clara, California
 
Baldovino, competing in her first collegiate meet, had an outstanding start to her career. She claimed second in the all-around (38.650) competing against Illinois, Rutgers and Southern Connecticut State. She started her day on the beam with a score of 9.725, then moved to the floor exercise and received the same score. During her vault she received a 9.65 and finished her day on the uneven bars with a score of 9.55 to cap off the impressive start to her collegiate career.
 
Coaches Choice
Charlotte Cooperman – Yale University, Fr., Southborough, Massachusetts
 
Cooperman started off her young career by leading the Bulldogs on the beam, her specialty. She gained momentum for the Bulldogs by scoring 9.65. The solid routine was a great start to her career.
 
 
Division II
 
Gymnast of the Week
Kate Aberger – Southern Connecticut State University, Sr., Plano, Texas
 
Aberger had a great weekend competing Southern Connecticut States quad-meet against Rutgers, Illinois and Yale. She had two top six finishes that included a third-place finish in the floor exercise (9.75) and sixth on the beam with a 9.8. The score during the floor exercise set a new career mark for her while she tied her career best on the beam. She capped off the meet by posting the Owls best score on bars with a 9.5.
 
Specialist of the Week
Sarah Boyd – West Chester University, So., St. Petersburg, Florida
 
Boyd nailed her routine for her specialty, the beam. She hit a score of 9.8 which currently ranks her first in that event among all Division II teams. The score helped to set the pace for the Rams as they won three of four events at this weekends quad meet.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kathryn Doran – University of Bridgeport, Fr., Oakville, Ontario, Canada
 
Doran started off her career in fashion. She tied for first place on bars against the University of New Hampshire with a score of 9.825. She also took second place on the beam with another outstanding score of 9.825. She capped off the meet with a floor exercise score of 9.475.
 
Coaches Choice
Emily Loughery – West Chester University, Jr., Telford, Pennsylvania
 
Loughery had a solid weekend competing in both the beam and floor for the Rams. She posted a beam score of 9.625 and won the floor exercise by performing a new routine to get a score of 9.7.
