ECAC Announces Men's Gymnastics Weekly Award Winners
DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announces its weekly awards winners for men's gymnastics for the week of competition ending Feb. 18.
Gymnast of the Week
Stephen Lewis – Springfield College, So., Baltimore, Maryland
Lewis Claims his third ECAC men’s gymnastics weekly award by setting a new career-high in the all-around. His new career high in the all-around is a mark of 80.8 came as the Pride competed against fellow ECAC opponent University of Illinois Chicago. Lewis highlighted his new career all-around by hitting a new career high in floor exercise (14.2) and the rings (13.65). He also had the Prides best showing on the vault with a score of 14.3. To complete the all-around, he hit marks on the pommel horse of 13.3, parallel bars (12.65) and high bar (12.7).
Specialist of the week
Asad Jooma – University of Illinois Chicago, So., Knoxville, Tennessee
Jooma wins his second consecutive specialist of the week award. Jooma tied his career high on the vault which he set last week. the score of 14.35 for the event earned him the first-place finish as the team competed against ECAC rival Springfield College. Jooma also has the second highest overall vault average in the ECAC this year.
Trevor Lamberton – Springfield College, Fr., Willow Spring, North Carolina
Trevor Lamberton continued to excel ion his first season at Springfield as he set new career-high marks on both the vault and floor exercise. First Lamberton completed a high bar routine for a score of 12.05. He then set a new career high on vault with a score of 13.45 and followed that up with the floor score of 13.2.
