ECAC Announces Women's Gymnastics Weekly Accolades

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announces its weekly awards winners for women's gymnastics for the week of competition ending Feb. 25.

Gymnast of the Week
Jade Budford – Yale University, So., Coppell, Texas
 
Sophomore Jade Buford earned three first place finishes this past weekend at the Ivy League Classic. She places first in the all-around with a new career high of 39.225 sticking multiple landings during coemption. She earned a career high on vault with 9.8 which was another first-place finish for her. Her third and final first place finish came on the floor routine as she tied her career high with a 9.9. She rounded out her all-around mark with a 9.8 on bars and a 9.725 on beam. Her performance led Yale to its first Ivy League Classic champions since 2005.

Specialist of the Week
Jessica Wang – Yale University, Jr., Chino Hills, California
 
Wang tied her career high on bars with a 9.9 this past weekend at the Ivy League Classic. The score landed her in first place on the event. She was the anchor for bars and her routine helped seal the victory for the Bulldogs at the Ivy League Classic. The 9.9 score also marks the sixth week in a row that she has score 9.8 or better on bars. She also contributed on beam with a 9.625.

Rookie of the Week
Jacey Baldovino – Yale University, Fr., Santa Clara, California
 
Freshman Jacey Baldovino wins year another weekly award after placing in second in the all-around at the Ivy League Classic behind only her teammate Jade Buford. Baldovino placed first on beam with a 9.825, fourth on bars with a 9.8, fifth on floor with a 9.8 and pitched in with a 9.575 on vault. Her second-place all-around score was a 39.0.

Coaches Choice
Anya Barca-Hall – Brown University, Sr., Monterey, California
 
Anya Barca-Hall the senior from Monterey California earned a new career high this past weekend in her lone event. Barca-Hall competed in the floor routine and won the event at the Ivy League Classic with a score of 9.875. The new career high shattered her old mark of 9.7.

Gymnast of the Week
Jordan Miranda – West Chester University, So., Winchester, Massachusetts
 
Sophomore Jordan Miranda competed for the first time in the line-up as an all-arounder. The Golden Rams competed against Maryland and Southern Connecticut State University this past weekend. Miranda tied for second on beam with a 9.775 and placed second in the all-around with a score of 38.45. She rounded out her score with a 9.3 on vault, 9.675 on bars and a 9.7 floor routine.

Specialist of the Week
Myranda Marshall – West Chester University, Jr., Lancaster, Pennsylvania
 
Marshall competed in just one lone event this past weekend. She competed against a strong Maryland bar line-up and placed third with a score of 9.8. The mark aided in the Golden Rams breaking their uneven bar record.

Rookie of the Week
Emily Balasco – Sothern Connecticut State University, Fr., Seekonk, Massachusetts
 
Balasco was the Owls top finisher on the beam as they competed against West Chester University and Maryland University. She finished third overall on the beam with a score of 9.75.

Coaches Choice
Kelsey Campbell – university of Bridgeport, Sr., Las Vegas, Nevada
 
Kelsey Campbell is the captain of the Purple Knights and had a great meet winning the all-around. She led off with a solid bar routine that scored 9.75. She continued on to the beam with a 9.675 even with an error. Campbell moved to the floor routine to score 9.725 and finished up her day with the vault earning a 9.725. Her four events combined for her all-around score of 38.875.
