ECAC Announces DII Men's Basketball Major Awards and All-ECAC Selections
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2017 Division II Men’s Basketball All-ECAC Team and Major Award Winners.
King University’s Jordan Floyd earns the honor of Player of the Year, while Ulyen Coleman of Southern Connecticut State University claims Rookie of the Year. Patrick Beilein from LeMoyne College collected the Coach of the Year honor to round out the major awards.
The 2017-18 ECAC Player of the Year led Conference Carolinas in scoring this season as he averaged 21.7 points per game, which ranks him 28th in all of NCAA Division II this year. Floyd scored at least 30 points in seven games for King and more than 20 points in 15 games. The junior also averaged 2.0 rebounds per game and 2.3 assists per game while also shooting 87.1 percent from the free throw line. At the end of the season, Floyd was unanimously honored as Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and earned a spot on the first team All-Conference.

Coleman earns ECAC Rookie of the Year after being selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year by the league's head coaches. The Massachusetts product averaged 13 points and five rebounds per game during his first year in the league, helping the Owls to the NE-10 Quarterfinals. Coleman, who was recognized as the conference Rookie of the Week three times during the season, proved to be one of the best long-range shooters in the league, knocking down 62 three-pointers during the season and shooting at a 42 percent clip form beyond the arc. He was also named to the NE-10's All-Rookie Team.

Coach Beilein was selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year by his peers after guiding the Dolphins to the Southwest Division crown. This is the second-straight year that Beilein has been recognized with the honor. Beilein's Dolphins are currently 27-6 overall and finished their NE-10 regular season with a mark of 18-2 in league play. Four of Beilein's student-athletes were honored as All-Conference selections.
