Johns Hopkins & Wesley Claim Team Titles at ECAC DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships concluded on Thursday, May 17 at the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Track & Field Complex.
Johns Hopkins University takes home the team title on the women's side while Wesley College takes home the men's championship.
Rachel Pell from Penn State Behrend was named the Women's Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) and Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed collects the same award for the men.
Jenn Su from Johns Hopkins takes the gold in the heptathlon after first-place finishes in three out of seven events. Joe Richardson from Alfred State University won the gold in the decathlon.
In the field events, Alex White of Penn State Harrisburg finished first in the men's high jump clearing 2.03m. Brady Smith from Penn State Behrend came in second after a tiebreaker decision with a 2.03m finish and Rodeo Thompson of Penn State Harrisburg cleared 1.88.
On the women's side, Jacqueline Seymour of Salisbury University took the gold with a 1.57m jump. Alyssa Ward of Franklin & Marshall College claimed second after a tiebreaker decision (1.57m) and Nafisa Saundes of Neumann University cleared 1.52m for bronze.
In the women's long jump, Avery Maillet of the City College of New York leapt 6.06m to finish first. Sarah Lehman of Penn State Harrisburg cleared 5.72m for second and Kimberly Hammond from Stevenson University came in third (5.22m).
The men's side saw Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed of Bethany College jump 7.42m to take home the gold for the second year in a row. Alex White of Penn State Harrisburg jumped 7.12m to place second and Daq Harris-Winbush from Wesley College finished third with a jump of 7.07 meters.
In the men's shotput, first place went to Edward Dennerlein of Rutgers University-Newark of who threw for 16.54m. McDaniel College's Billy Emerson came in second (15.35m) and Logan Lewis from Franklin & Marshall rounded out third (14.89m).
On the women's side, Addisen Knetzer from Waynesburg claimed the gold with a 13.54m toss. Jess Rega from Stevenson took silver with a distance of 12.42m and Ledena Baytops from Rutgers Newark received bronze with a 11.93m throw.
Mikayla Bisignani from Johns Hopkins took first in the women's discus with a 37.11m throw. Addison Knetzer of Waynesburg University placed second (36.60m) and Chaynne Fine from Gwynedd-Mercy Univeristy took third (36.11m).
Cameron Yon from Penn State Harrisburg placed first in the men's discus, throwing for 51.42 meters. Second place went to Paul Kemsley from Alfred State (45.98m) John Kerns from Frostburg State rounded out the podium (45.86m).
Frostburg State took gold for the women's 4x100 relay with a time of 48.87. Wesley claimed first on the men's side crossing the line with at time of 41.66.
Austin MacElrevey from the United States Merchant Marine Academy finished first on the men's side in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:59.08 followed by Christop Drozynski of Penn State Behrend in second (3:59.55) and Spencer Lyman of Franklin & Marshall coming in third (4:00.12).
Clare Schoen of Misericordia University took first on the women's side finishing in 4:40.31. Following closely in second was Gina D'Addario from Johns Hopkins (4:42.79) and teammate Therese Olshanski (4:35.23) took third.
In the men's 110m hurdles, Jalil Clayton from Penn State Harrisburg repeats as a gold medalist finishing first in 14.54, shaving 25 seconds off his 2017 time. Charlie Guan from Johns Hopkins came in second with a time of 15.04 and Roland Attoh-Okine from Wesley finished third in 15.09.
The women's 100m hurdles saw Rachel Pell from Penn State Behrend cross the line in 15.81 to claim the gold while Lauren Roberts from Johns Hopkins took silver (15.86) and Katherine Fair from Waynesburg brought home the bronze (15.99).
In the women's 400m hurdles, Rachel Pell of Penn State Behrend took home another first-place finish with a time of 1:02.61. Elinore Loch of Waynesburg placed second (1:06.34) and Lauren Roberts from Johns Hopkins placed third (1:06.66).
On the men's side, Jalil Clayton from Penn State Harrisburg crossed the line with a time of 54.57 to claim the gold. Grant Mosser of Johns Hopkins took silver with a 54.82 finish and Will Johnson of Wesley took the bronze (55.69).
Briyanna Woods from Wesley finished first in the Women's 400m dash with a time of 57.63. Jamie Farley of Salisbury took second (58.52) and Keyanna Miller of Medgar Evers College rounded out the podium with a time of 58.89.
Grant Rodgers of Penn State Behrend took the gold in the men's 400m dash with a 49.22 finish. Aaron Bilss from Grove City was right behind him with a time of 50.03 for silver and two tenths of a second behind was Iddriss Iddriss from Stevenson for bronze (50.05).
The women's 100m dash was a very close finish. Rakiya Taylor from Wesley crossed the line first with a time of 12.29, followed by Kayla Truesdel from Frostburg State (12.33). Evelina Sloboh, also from Wesley, came in third with a tie of 12.39.
On the men's side, Wesley's Christia Saulsbury claimed first in 10.80 while teammate Greg Taylor came in on his heels at 10.81. Kendall Belser from Stevenson rounded out the podium (10.97).
Rakiya Taylor from Wesley claims her second gold medal of the day, crossing the line first in the women's 200m dash with at time of 24.96. Glory Ebinama from Salisbury came in second (25.24) followed by Kayla Truesdel from Frostburg State coming in third (25.26).
In the men's 200m dash, Kendall Belser of Stevenson crossed the line with a time of 21.77 for first place. John Heriot from Wesley took second (21.89) followed by teammate Tysean Cousar in third (21.95).
Another dramatic closer was the women's 800-meter run. Caelyn Reilly from Johns Hopkins finished first with a time of 2:19.15. Right behind her coming in second place was Alison Krahe from Stevenson (2:19.37) and Angie Marchetti from Waynesburg took third with a time of 2:19.76.
On the men's side, Gavin Gibson from McDaniel broke the tape first to claim gold with a 1:55.09 finish. Marshall Murray from Bethany clocked in at 1:55.31 for silver while Colton Takata from Johns Hopkins claimed bronze (1:56.48).
Waynesburg claimed the gold for the 4x800 women's relay with the team finishing in 9:47.01. Alfred's men's squad takes home medals with a 7:58.94 finish.
