ECAC Announces 2019 Division III Women's Soccer All-ECAC

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2019 Division III Women’s Soccer All-ECAC Team.
 
Senior forward Christina Gagliardi from St. Joseph’s College – Long Island was voted Offensive Player of the Year. Arcadia University defender Brianna Crowley won Defensive Player of the Year. Carnegie Mellon University took home two major award honors as Alex Adams claimed Rookie of the Year and Yon Struble took home Coach of the Year honors.

Gagliardi broke her own existing program records for total goals and points in a single season with tallies of 22 and 50 respectively. She finished fifth in the nation in goals per game (1.375) and points per game (3.13) and tied for sixth in goals. She will graduate as the program leading in career goals with 68, and points with 155. The senior was named Skyline Offensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-Conference, and USCA NCAA Division III National Player of the Week once this season.

Crawley racked in awards for her 2019 season as she led an Arcadia defense to ten shutouts in her in 19 appearances and allowed only 11 total goals. Her defensive leadership helped lead Arcadia to its fourth-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The sophomore has been named All-MAC Commonwealth twice in a row and followed up her 2018 rookie of the year campaign with a 2019 MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year.

Adams etched her name into the Tartan record books with her rookie year. The two-time UAA Athlete of the Week owns the Carnegie Mellon freshman goal scoring and points record with 13 goals and 32 points, while tying the records for assists with six. Adams led her team to the national semifinals with 14 goals on the season.

Coach Struble coached his team to the national semifinals starting a lineup with more underclassmen (6) than upper (5) that went 14-5-2. The team went 3-3 against ranked opponents this season and only lost to teams that were either ranked or NCAA qualifiers as the Tartans finished the season ranked second in the Great Lakes Region and 25th nationally.
