ECAC Announces 2019 Division III Women's Volleyball All-ECAC

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2019 Division III Women’s Volleyball All-ECAC Team & major award winners.
 
Clarkson University headlines ECAC major awards as Kate Isaksen claims Defensive Player of the Year and Carol LaMarche takes home Coach of the Year. Reagan Stone from Ithaca College earned Offensive Player of the Year honor and Paige Smith from United Sates Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) was voted Rookie of the Year.

Stone had an incredibly productive year as she ranked fourth in the country in Kills per Set (4.71), Total Kills (542), and Points per Set (5.31). She posted eight double-doubles on the season and double-digit kills in 28-of-31 matches, 20 or more kills in 11 matches and 30 or more kills twice this season. The Junior was named Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week three times, as well as All-Liberty League First Team, AVCA All-New York Region, AVCA Second Team All-American and AVCA New York Region Player of the Year.

Kate Isaksen is not stranger to this award as she earns her third consecutive Defensive Player of the Year award. The senior libero has capped off an incredible career that she Finished with more than 3200 digs, good for seventh most in Division III history and the most of any player in the 25-points per set era. for her efforts Isaksen was named AVCA Second-Team All-American, the highest position any libero in the country achieved, and Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship Potsdam Regional.

Smith was named the AVCA Northeast Region Freshman of the Year and Skyline Rookie of the Year after ranked in the top-10 in the country in points per set (sixth with 5.24) and kills per set (10th with 4.36). She set an Academy record for kills per set in a single match with 8.33 during a three-set Skyline. As a freshman she was named the Skyline Player of the Week three times this season, while also earning Rookie of the Week honors twice.

Carol LaMarche was named AVCA New York Region Coach of the Year and Liberty League Coach of the Year After winning the Liberty League regular season title and Liberty League Conference Championship. Her team won the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship Potsdam Regional title and advanced to Elite 8, where it lost to top-ranked, defending national champion Emory University in five sets.
