ECAC Announces 2019 Division I Women's Volleyball All-ECAC
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2019 Division I Women’s Volleyball All-ECAC Team & major award winners.
Emma Granger from Robert Morris University won Offensive Player of the Year and Katie Forsythe from Loyola University won Defensive Player of the Year. Morgan Romano of Rider University was voted Rookie of the Year as the head coach of Towson University Don Metil won Coach of the Year.

Granger adds one more award to her season accolades with an ECAC Offensive Player of the Year. The unanimous NEC Player of the Year and All-NEC First Team won seven Molten/NEC Player of the Week awards (a conference record) and three Molten/NEC Defensive Player of the Week awards. The junior broke the RMU single season record in total blocks (160) and finished second in hitting percentage (.381), service aces (60), and block assists (142), and ninth in kills (389). Nationally, she Ranked sixth nationally in blocks per set (1.50), ninth in aces per set (0.56), 24th in points per set (5.03), 33rd in hitting percentage (.381).

Forsythe had a tenacious season on defense as she led Division I in total digs (753) entering NCAA Tournament. The two-time Patriot League Libero of the Year broke her own Patriot League and Loyola single-season records for digs this season after posting 697 as a freshman last year. Her season was highlighted by a 46-dig performance against Holy Cross to set conference and school match record, a total that is 11th in NCAA history for four-set match

Morgan Romano literally owned the MAAC Rookie of the Week awards, winning it every single week for a total of 12 times. The natural MAAC Rookie of the year and two-time MAAC Player of the Week led the MAAC in kills (534), kills per set (4.64), points (602.5) and points per set (5.24).

Don Metil led Towson to a perfect CAA season with the first-ever 16-0 record in league play and the CAA title. The 2019 CAA Coach of the Year recorded the most wins in a season (28) since coming to Towson. The Tigers went on a 23-match winning streak that stretched into the NCAA tournament and engineered one of the biggest bounce-back seasons in program history, winning 11 more games over the 2018 season.
