ECAC Announces Final Women's Gymnastics Weekly Awards For The 2019 Season

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announces the final weekly awards for women's gymnastics for the 2019 season.

Gymnast of the Week
Monica Servidio – Temple University, So., Howell, New Jersey
 
Servidio had a spectacular meet competing against Brown University and the University of Bridgeport as she would break Temples program record in the all-around with a 39.225. This was well above her own previous all-around career-best of a 39.05. She helped the team to a season-high on vault with a score of 9.8. On the uneven bars she would score a 9.725 and on beam score a 9.825. Servidio’s best performance in any event came on the floor where she would set a new career-best score with a 9.875.

Specialist of the Week
Claire Haklik – Cornell University, So., Atlanta, Georgia
 
Haklik had a great two meet weekend where Cornell had two meets with just 24 hours between them. In the first meet of the weekend on Saturday she scored a 9.825 on floor. She would step up her performance on Sunday as Cornell competed against Rutgers University. Haklik would tie the Big Reds floor exercise record score with a 9.925.

Rookie of the Week
Mei Li Costa – Brown University, Fr., Lawrenceville, New Jersey
 
Costa continued her impressive freshman year at Brown by scoring the top marks for the team on vault and bars. On vault she would score a 9.725 and on bars she would hit the school record. Costa scored a 9.9 on bars to put herself in qualifying position for NCAA regionals and earning the No. 2 spot on this event in the ECAC.

Coaches Choice
Miranda Lund – Cornell University, Fr., Plainview, New York
 
Lund stepped up for the Big Red in a couple ways last weekend. First, on vault she would be a late addition into the line-up after injuries took two gymnasts out of the line-up. She had not been practicing vault but had a score of 9.525 which would count towards the teams score. Then on beam when the regular leadoff could not participate, Lund would ask the coaches to be the lead of the event. She got the Big Red off to a great start and set the tone with a 9.725.

Gymnast of the Week
Julianna Roland – University of Bridgeport, Fr., Lumberton, New Jersey
 
Roland had a fantastic weekend competing in two meets and competing in the all-around competition both days. First, she would score a 39.025 in the all-around that was accompanied by score of 9.825 on vault, 9.75 on bars, 9.625 on beam and a 9.825 on floor. She would repeat her consistency in the second meet but also improve on some of her scores, especially the all-around. The second competition saw Roland achieve a 39.25 in the all-around. She improved her with her scores on vault with a 9.9 and on the beam with a 9.875. Her bars score was a 9.675 and finished off with a floor score of 9.8.

Specialist of the Week
Sarah Boyd – West Chester University, Jr., St. Petersburg, Florida
 
Boyd hit her best beam routine of the year. She would finish first on the event and tie the Golden Rams program record with a 9.875. She also competed on floor achieving a mark of 9.675.


Rookie of the Week
Bella Lanata – Southern Connecticut State University, Fr., Glastonbury, Connecticut
 
Lanata hit on both events she competed in against Bridgeport last weekend. She would also set new season-best scores which came on vault and floor. Lanata’s vault score was a 9.675 and her floor score was a 9.7.

Coaches Choice 
Myranda Marshall – West Chester University, Sr., Lancaster, Pennsylvania   
 
Marshall had a big day for the Golden Rams as they competed in their final home meet of the season, which was also senior day. Marshall would score a 9.8 to finish off her career at home. That score would tie for first place and also marked her season-best score.
