ECAC Announces DIII Baseball All-ECAC and Major Award Winners

Danbury, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2019 Division III Baseball Awards and All-ECAC selections.

Misericordia University Senior Kenny Jarema was voted ECAC Player of the Year, while teammate Ian McCole earned Pitcher of the Year. Bryce Marsh from Pfeiffer University was voted Rookie of the Year and Cabrini University head coach Nick Weisheipl earned Coach of the Year honors.

Jarema takes home ECAC Player of the Year following an award-filled season for the senior shortstop. Jarema earned MAC Freedom Player of the Year in addition to first team all-conference honors. Additionally, he led the conference in batting (.431), on-base percentage, hits (60) and runs (55). Jarema also finished his season riding a 31-game on-base streak.

Ian McCole from Misericordia University, was voted Pitcher of the Year boasting a MAC Freedom leading earned run average (1.88) and strikeouts (57). McCole was also named MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Year, MAC Freedom Tournament MVP and first team all-conference. McCole also tied the Misericordia single-season record with 10 wins on their way to a MAC Freedom Championship.

Bryce Marsh was voted Rookie of the Year following a strong start to his collegiate career. Marsh's .385 batting average and 45 runs batted in also helped him earn first team USA South All Conference honors.

Cabrini manager Nick Weisheipl coached his third-year program to the top of the league with a program best regular season record of 29-8. The Cavaliers finished with a conference best 11-1 record, securing the top overall seed in the inaugural Atlantic East Conference Tournament. Cabrini finished as the AEC runner-up, but the Weisheipl led Cavaliers topped the conference in runs scored (370), hits (438), total bases (646) and fielding percentage (.961).
