ECAC Announces Women's Weekly Gymnastics Awards
DANBURY, CONN – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announces it’s final weekly awards for Women’s Gymnastics for the week ending March 8.
Division I

Gymnast of the Week
Katie Waldman – William & Mary, Jr., Omaha, NE
Katie Waldman has been a staple to the William & Mary lines ups this season. She has stepped up and competed in the all-around at every meet this year. This past weekend at George Washington, Katie scored a 9.925 on bars to break an 18-year-old W&M individual bar record. She also set a season-high all-around score of a 39.175 that helped propel the team to the sixth-best team score in school history.

Specialist of the Week
Sophia Petrillo – Brown University, So., Stoneham, MA
Sophia earned a career high on bars scoring a 9.8 and led the Bears to a season-high team total.

Rookie of the Week
Brianna Greenlow – William & Mary, Fr., Suwanne, GA
Brianna Greenlow set not only one but two new career-highs at the George Washington meet this past weekend. She was the Tribe’s top competitor on beam scoring her first career-high of the evening with a 9.825. Greenlow is also a crucial athlete to the W&M line up as she led off both floor, scoring a 9.725, and bars, scoring a 9.7. These scores helped boost her to her next career-high of the night in the all-around, scoring a 38.925.

Coaches Choice
Delaney Garin – Temple University, Jr., Fairfax, VA
Delaney Garin came up big for the Cherry and White this weekend and showcased her resiliency and grit across the team’s two meets. The junior captain had a solid meet on Friday but turned in an outstanding performance on Sunday to propel the Owls to their third-best team score in program history. Garin posted a 9.8 or above in all three of her events. She scored a 9.8 on bars, a 9.8 on beam to earn a share of the event title and a 9.825 on floor to tie for third place. Garin was instrumental in helping Temple to a season-high 49.1 on floor, which ties the fourth-best score in program history.
Division II

Gymnast of the Week
Maya Reimers – University of Bridgeport, Sr., NY, NY
Maya continues to be a key component of our team. Her confidence and consistency aid her in being a standout on the team, especially on big stages. Maya competed a nearly flawless beam routine to secure a 2nd place finish against two highly ranked Division 1 teams.

Specialist of the Week
Nicole Javinett – Bridgeport University, So., Marlboro, NY
Nicole has been a crucial piece of the teams beam line up, consistently leading with confidence. Nicole led off the beam rotation with her best beam routine to date, receiving a career high score and sticking a flawless dismount. Nicole continues to be reliable and helps to set the tone of the teams beam rotation every time.

Rookie of the Week
Bianca Leon -- Southern Connecticut State University, Fr., Miami, FL
In the Owls' tri-meet against Rutgers with Cornell, Leon won the balance beam event with a program-record of 9.900. She passes Hannah Stahlbrodt's mark of 9.875 on the bars during the Owls' meet on Feb. 26, 2020.

Coaches Choice
Rose Fanara – West Chester University, So., Fredricksburg, VA
Rose had another outstanding meet scoring 9.65 on the beam and 9.775 with her floor routine.

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-two-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.
