ECAC Announces Women's Volleyball Players of the Month for October 2021
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Volleyball Players of the Month for October 2021.
Division II
Offensive Player of the Month
Carley Williams, Jr., Right Side, Emory & Henry University
Williams reached double figures in kills in nine of the 11 matches of the month and hit .300 or better in six matches. She also had three or more blocks in five matches. Williams helped lead E&H to an 8-3 month posting 3.40 kills/set.
Defensive Player of the Month
Jamie Yonker, Sr., Libero, Adelphi University
Yonker earned her fourth NE10 Libero of the Week honor as she led team in digs (230, 6.39 per set) while also adding 1.11 assists per set to conclude October with 40 assists. She leads the NE10 in total digs with 508 and 5.64 digs per set
Rookie of the Month
Kambel Fiser, Fr., Setter, Adelphi University
Fiser ranks sixth in the NE10 with 700 total assists after adding 319 in the month of October. She added five double-doubles over eight games in October.
Division III – North
Offensive Player of the Month
Sarah Raeman, Sr., Opposite, Alfred University
Raeman posted 2.97 kills/set in October and earned Empire 8 Player of the Week once and Saxon of the Week once for Alfred.
Defensive Player of the Month
Darian Ortiz, Jr., Libero, Alfred University
Ortiz continued to be an all-around player from libero. She had 4.11 digs/set and added 30 points from 25 aces and five kills as well as 34 set assists.
Division III – South
Offensive Player of the Month
Becky Adelman, Sr., RS/MB, Westminster College
Senior Becky Adelman currently ranks second in the conference with a .316 hitting-percentage and second with 325 kills and second with 402.5 points. In October she posted 141 kills and 3.7 kills per set.
Defensive Player of the Month
Erin Lutz, Sr., Libero, Penn State - Altoona
Lutz led the Lions in digs (175) and digs per set (4.73) during a 10-2 month of October and was named the AMCC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 18.
Rookie of the Month
Kennedy Kerr, Fr., Setter, Grove City College
Kerr served at least one ace in 10 of 14 matches and helped direct Grove City offense to five straight wins mid-month. She leads team in assists and aces.
Division III – Metro
Offensive Player of the Month
Grace Riddle, Jr., Outside Hitter, Mount Saint Mary College
Grace Riddle posted 198 kills this October on her way to being named Skyline Conference Player of the Week on October 12, good for 4.21 kills per set.
Defensive Player of the Month
Lindsey Hirano, Fr., Libero, New York University
Hirano led the 23-1 NYU Violets (11-1 in October) in digs and tied for most sets played during the month. She was also third in assists (63) and service aces (10) during the month. She was named UAA Athlete of the Week once and is second in the UAA in digs and digs per set.
Rookie of the Month
Anne Beckmeyer, Fr., Middle Hitter, Kean University
Beckmeyer was a force in the middle for Kean. Posting 94 kills and 2.69 kills per set, she hit .320 in October. She also posted 47 blocks at a clip of 1.34 per set.
