ECAC Announces Riders of the Week Ending October 16
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Equestrian Riders of the Week for the week ending October 16.
Dual Discipline
Fences: Olivia Brown – Delaware State
Sophomore Olivia Brown went 4-0 for the weekend against No. 1 TCU and No. 10 UTM snagging three out of four MOPs for Jumping Seat events. Against TCU, Brown bested Ella Bostwick 82-81 on "River" to earn her first MOP of the weekend. On Friday against UTM, Brown won 83-41 against Tyler Anderson on "Kal" to earn her second MOP. She went on to win her fourth point and post a career high score (95-82) & MOP on the flat against UTM.
Flat: Sydney Hott – UT Martin
Sydney Hott won both of her points at Delaware State and earned an MOP against No. 1 TCU.
Horsemanship: Kate Davis – UT Martin
Kate Davis won her point against DSU by a seven point margin and helped secure an away victory. She also won both of her reining points against TCU and DSU.
Reining: Kendal Scheiner – UC Davis
Kendal Scheiner had an MOP showing and one point to help UCD take down Auburn 4-1 in Reining and 10-8 overall.
Single Discipline
Fences: Emmy Longest – Sweet Briar
Emmy Longest was named MOP in fences with her 81 on Babalou against No. 4 Dartmouth. She beat her Big Green competitor by five points to secure a point for the Vixens.
Flat: Wyette Felton – Sweet Briar
Wyette earned a 94 in flat with Stewart against No. 4 Dartmouth. She took down her opponent by nine points and recorded the highest score of the meet and of the season so far for the Vixens in either event.
