ECAC ESPORTS PLAYER & ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – WEEK 3
ECAC Esports announces its Player & Rookie of the Week Awards for week 3 presented by HyperX.
Overwatch Player of the Week
Grand Valley State University - Musa “Vuur” Dove, 2024, DPS
Musa continues to prove to the team he can consistently output big plays in our scrims and in ECAC. Picking up mutli-kills with his Dragon strikes, or lining up precision headshots on our favorite Cowboy Cassidy. Musa is a star DPS player for GVSU Esports, and we look eagerly, as he continues to grind to Masters on the competitive ladder.
Overwatch Rookie of the Week
Grand Valley State University - Tyler “FlabbyFace” Bader, 2023, Tank
Tyler made the unprecedented switch from DPS over to Tank this season, and already has proven himself as a star player for the GVSU Esports Overwatch team. Tyler's rock solid performance across a wide hero pool, is why he's been a cornerstone to the team's undefeated run in the ECAC open Division so far. Tyler continues to prove his dedication to Overwatch and the team. We look forward to continuing to see him sharpen his skills, and rise to the top of the competitive ladder in the coming seasons.
Valorant Player of the Week
Long Island University - Johnson “TTVMinidrones” Scoggins, Sophomore, Duelist
Led by Sophomore standout Johnson Scoggins, LIU pulled a reverse sweep against Lyco College. This comeback was pulled in part thanks to Johnson's impressive play and stat lines going 21/17/7 . Then going 26/16/4 in his team's two match victory. Even in defeat, Johnson was able to pull an impressive line of 32/23/4.
Valorant Rookie of the Week
Long Island University - Brandon “Bman” Kaim, Sophomore, Sentinel
A newcomer to the Sharks, Brandon was able to come up big in the Sharks second win of the season in the open division. Brandon was able to post 51 kills across three maps while using his abilities to control the map. If Brandon continues to play at such a high level, there is no limit to what the Sharks will be able to accomplish!
Smash Player of the Week
Post University - Kenneth “ Ghost007” Rodriquez. Sophomore, Snake
Ghost showed his adaptation in week 3 vs SUNY Poly. When all seemed lost and no one could figure out SUNY's amazing Villager player, Ghost changed his playstyle, being much more patient and staying grounded and eventually clutched out those final stocks against SUNY's best player to give the Post Smash team their first 3-0 start in program history.

Mars Hill University - Ethan “ Weebyboii” Webber, Sophomore, Roy
FIFA Player of the Week
Augustana College - Emilola “emi_oflagos” Igun, Junior
Emi "emi_oflagos" Igun got back into the winning column week three with a 2-1 victory over Saint John's. After dropping game 1 (GM 1: 0-1), Emi came back to close out the series in a reverse sweep (GM 2: 5-2, GM 3: 7-3) by out scoring his opponent 12 to 5 in the final two games of the series. Emi has now moved to 2-1 on the season.
FIFA Rookie of the Week
Lycoming College - Austin “Frere Saka” Craig, Sophomore
Week 3 was all about making a statement after his week 2 loss. Austin came out pistons burning out scoring his opponent 8-0 in game one. With a hot start in the first game the fire was still ablaze and Austin ended the series in a quick 2-0 game sweep. It seems like he is having no problem translating his abilities on the pitch directly into FIFA.
Madden Player of the Week
Cumberland University - Austin “StGregDaGreat769” Bush, Senior
Austin Bush was able to take a 2-0 Victory over Muskingum University in Week three of the season. In game one, He was able to find the endzone five times to win game one, 35-14. Game Two, Austin Bush was able to force numerous turnovers and shut out his opponent to take the victory in game two with a score of 61-0. Winning the series, 2-0.
Madden Rookie of the Week
Long Island University - Tyler “Niguto25” Dorsey, Freshman
Coming from the introductory recruitment class of Brooklyn LIU, the Sharks newest addition, Tyler Dorsey has come out swinging in the opening weeks of Madden PS4 play. Starting 2-0, Tyler came up against the always formidable Muskingum University. With a strong showing against the Muskies in game 1, Tyler's impressive passing attack pushed the Shark to a 13-31 victory. This was then followed up by an impressive defense performance that saw Tyler force multiple turnovers leading to his opponent conceding.
League of Legends Player of the Week
Long Island University - Peter “KoolKidPete” Plocharczyk, Junior, ADC
The three year starter from Long Island University found himself in a familiar situation this past week against St. Rose with a win and win scenario to make it into the playoffs. Coming out strong, Pete was able to play it "kool" with zeri coming up guy with a 8/3/10 stat line. After a rough start to the game, Pete was able to scale his champion up to become an unstoppable force finishing the game with 32% of the damage dealt to the Golden Knights. In game two Peter was able to smell blood in the water, and take out St. Rose with a dominant 13/3/9 stat line on Samira. sporting a 7.3 KDA and CSing at a rate of nearly 8 CS/Per Minute, Peter was able to conquer the knights and lead his team to playoffs!
League of Legends Rookie of the Week
Long Island University - Jason “ Flawlessly” P4, Jungler
The Brooklyn recruit made his debut two weeks ago in a single game in the first week of the semester. Since then Jason "Flawlessly" Chen has made his present known. With his impressive mechanical skills, Jason drew multiple bans in both games during the set against St. Rose. Even then, Jason early game pressure turned the tide in game one as he was able to pilot Nunu in a 4.25 KDA stat line. In game 2, Jason was able to fall back onto a comfort pick in Hecarim, and it showed his expertise on the chance. Going 8/1/17, Jason was all over the map leading to the team snowballing its way into the playoffs.
Jason's pressure and mechanical skill has also created strong neutral objective control that has opened up new paths to victory for the Sharks.
