ECAC Announces 2023 DIII Men's Soccer Championship Field
DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced Alvernia University will be the overall top-seed of the 2023 ECAC Division III Men's Soccer Championship for the second year in a row. Alvernia, FDU Florham, Goucher College, and Penn State Behrend will be the sites of the first two rounds. First round play of the tournament will begin on Saturday, November 11.
In pod 1 hosted by Alvernia University, the top overall seed Alvernia has a bye to sunday and will play the winner of No. 8 St. Elizabeth University and No. 9 Lehman College.
In pod 4 hosted by FDU Florham, No. 4 FDU Florham will play No. 5 NJCU for the right to advance to the next weekend.
In pod 3 hosted by Goucher College, No. 3 Virginia Wesleyan will battle No. 6 Goucher College.
In pod 2 hosted by PSU Behrend, No. 2 PSU Behrend awaits the winner of No. 7 Franciscan University and No. 10 Pitt Greensburg.
The winners of each pod will go on to compete in the semifinal round on Saturday, November 18, hosted by one of the advancing schools.
All times are TBD. Hosting schools will coordinate with their traveling institutions to determine game times.
Pod 1 First Round - Saturday, Nov. 11 & Sunday, Nov. 12 at Alvernia University
Game 1: (Sat.): No. 8 St. Elizabeth vs. No. 9 Lehman at 1:00 PM
Game 2 (Sun.): No. 1 Alvernia vs. St. Elizabeth at 12:00 PM
Pod 4 First Round - Sunday, Nov. 12 at FDU Florham
Game 1: (Sun.): No. 4 FDU Florham vs. No. 5 NJCU at 12:00 PM
Pod 3 First Round - Saturday, Nov. 11 at Goucher College
Game 1: (Sun.): No. 3 Virginia Wesleyan vs. No. 6 Goucher at 2:00 PM, game to be played Saturday.
Pod 2 First Round - Saturday, Nov. 11 & Sunday, Nov. 12 at PSU Behrend
Game 1: (Sat.): No. 7 Franciscan vs. No. 10 Pitt Greensburg 3:00 PM
Game 2 (Sun.): No. 2 PSU Behrend vs. Franciscan 2:00 PM
Semifinals – Saturday Nov. 18 at Alvernia University
SF 1: Alvernia University vs FDU Florham at 11:00 AM
SF 2: PSU Behrend vs Goucher College at 2:00 PM
Championship – Sunday, Nov. 19 at Alvernia University
