ECAC Announces 2023 DIII Women's Basketball Championship Field
DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced Ramapo College will be the top overall seed and hosts in the 2023 ECAC Division III Women’s Basketball Championship. Tournament play will begin Wednesday, March 1 with first round games.
No. 1 Ramapo receives a bye to Saturday's action. They await the winner of No. 4 Penn State – Behrend hosting No. 5 Alvernia University on Wednesday. No. 3 William Paterson University takes on No. 6 John Jay College in New Jersey. No. 2 NJCU goes on the road to No. 7 Neumann University to begin their championship campaign.
The winners of the three first-round game will go on to compete in the semifinals on Saturday, March 4 at Ramapo.
First Round - Wednesday, March 1 at campus sites
Game #1: No. 4 PSU Behrend* vs. No. 5 Alvernia at 5:00 pm
Game #2: No. 3 William Paterson* vs. No. 6 John Jay at 7:00 pm
Game #3: No. 2 NJCU vs. No. 7 Neumann* at 6:00 pm
*denotes host
Semifinals - Saturday, March 4 at Ramapo College
Game #4: Ramapo vs. Alvernia at 4:00 pm
Game #5:William Paterson vs NJCU at 6:00 pm
Championship - Sunday, March 5 at Ramapo College
Winner Game #4 vs. Winner Game #5 - 2:00 p.m.
