ECAC Announces Riders of the Month for February
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Equestrian Riders of the Month for February.
Single Discipline:
Fences: Naomi Dachis – Sweet Briar College
Dachis won three out of four points during the month of February and averaged a score of 82.5 and winning point differential of 9.25. The New Jersey native took down her opponent from No. 1 Lynchburg by 18 points with an 85. She also earned a career-high score of 86 against Dartmouth.
Flat: Katherine Atherton – Sweet Briar College
Atherton had a spectacular month of competition, earning three out of four possible points, earning MOP honors against No.1 Lynchburg and Dartmouth. She beat out her No.4 Bridgewater competitor by 23 points before turning around a few hours later to take down her Dartmouth competitor by 22 points. She averaged a score of 80.75 during the month and had a wining point differential of seven. Atherton earned ECAC Flat Rider of the Week honors on Feb. 12 and again on Feb. 26.
Dual Discipline:
Fences: Victoria Croston – Delaware State University
Croston won both her points on the road. She rode against a 0 with UMNC and beat her SDSU opponent by four points.
Flat: Nicole Beales – UC Davis
Beales posted one MOP and went 2-0 in the month of February helping UC Davis sweep TCU in Flat in a closely contested meet.
Horsemanship: Alexis Grogan – Delaware State University
Grogan won both her points on the road beating her SDSU opponent by nine points and her UMNC opponent by two points.
Reining: Anastacia Brugger – Delaware State University
Brugger bested her UMNC opponent who zeroed and then outrode her SDSU rider by 2.5 pts.
