Princeton earns ECAC Men’s Indoor Tennis crown

HAMLIN, Pa. – The Eastern Conference Athletic crowned a new men’s indoor tennis champion on Sunday afternoon, with Princeton pulling off a 4-1 victory over host Penn to take home the trophy. Princeton improves to 8-4 on the season with the win and outscored 12-4 for the weekend.
 
Penn took the doubles point in the championship match, picking up victories in the second and third flights, but Princeton stormed back quickly in singles action. Paul Inchauspe provided Princeton’s first point of the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the top flight, pulling the Tigers even on the scorecard.
 
The second flight saw Fnu Nidunjianzan take down Penn’s Kian Vakili with set scores of 6-2, 6-0, while Tiger teammate Sebastian Sec won 6-4, 6-3 on Court 3 to put Princeton on the brink of a championship. Freshman Landon Ardila clinched the final point on Court 4, capping off a 6-3, 6-4 victory and the weekend in style.
 
Earlier in the day, William and Mary defeated Dartmouth 4-3 to finish the weekend in fifth place, while Temple prevailed in the seventh-place match with a win over Brown. Continuing the trend of matches separated by one point, Cornell took third place with a 4-3 victory over Yale.
